Lorenzo's POV
Today is the day.
Today is the day that me and Roseanne are getting married. No wedding, as I literally said that and I can't really take back my words, even though I'm starting to regret it as every minute goes by. At least for today, that is how I feel.
We've been living together in my house for the past days, I actually showed up at Roseanne's house and asked her parents for permission. I'm so whipped that I can't even believe it myself. Am I still the same person I was a week ago that was being set up with multiple girls? It's a great thing that they agreed to let her stay with me these past few days. Only if they knew the truth.
A smile rise on my face as I opened my eyes and reached for the space beside me. But it's empty? My eyes opened completely and looked to the empty space on the my bed, confused. Where is Roseanne and when did she wake up? Don't tell me she ran away last minute.
I sat up immediately, wore my slippers and walked out of our room. I hope she didn't decide to run away and back out last minute, that would be a very cowardly move which doesn't seem like Roseanne at all.
Through the past week we stayed together, I would say we got to know each other pretty well, we shared things, either personal or commonly knew. Because by her words "We are getting married anyway, we should at least know things about each other".
I looked through the rooms upstairs. No one. It's empty up here with no one else but me. I could feel my heart rate fasten as I still couldn't find her. But when I got to the kitchen, a familiar figure with long, slightly curled strawberry blonde locks still in her night gown greeted me, her back facing me while she is cooking, probably making our breakfast.
I let out breath of air I have been unconsciously holding and smiled at the sight, quietly walking up behind her and engulfed with her with a back hug, wrapping my arms around her perfect little waist. She jumped slightly due to shock but I could feel her smiling after.
"Good morning there." She greeted me softly.
I sucked in her scent. The sweet combination of strawberries and vanilla that I've been addicted to for the past days. I pecked her cheek as a response to her greeting.
"Are you excited?" I asked her, earning a hum in response.
"We are just going to the marriage house and signing a certificate." She spoke, calming in her ever so soothing voice, no matter what she's saying. "Though I have to say, I am pretty excited, I've never been married before." She joked.
"You better have not been." I said in a low warning tone. Though it may seem unfair, having a divorce in this country is really controversial, it's critical. People who knew if you have had a divorce, mainly towards females, will look down on them. Because according to the society, it's shameful to just leave your husband like that.
She turned off the stove and moved to the side, turning to me with a smile. "You know I'm just joking, don't you?" She looked at me, with those innocent soft eyes of hers. I think I, Lorenzo, the youngest general in the nation is falling bad for the girl in front of me which I met a week ago.
"I thought you left me." I gave her a light pout. Damn, past Lorenzo would have never pouted towards anyone, but now, I have her as an exception. The only exception.
She giggled, with her eyes smiling too. "I am true to my words, Lorenzo. I wouldn't leave last minute because I promised to marry you. And I shouldn't put away the chance of having a wonderful marriage life, should I?" Her head tilted slightly as she spoke. Her voice gentle.
