Roseanne's POV
"You're working again?" I frowned, walking into the study of our house. This man just got back from a war, was severely injured and is already starting to work after barely a month. What is he even thinking!?
"What?" He asked without looking up from his documents. Wow, wouldn't even spare his wife a glance when it comes to work.
"Lorenzo." I walked in, standing next to him by his mess of a desk. Papers were scattered everywhere, and it was tidy when I walked pass this room yesterday, so you could only imagine.
"Yes?" He took off his glasses and looked up at me.
"You need to rest." I let out a sigh. "And it's not even noon while you have already made a mess."
"Well, I've been gone for a while, so there's a lot of work to do. Plus I need to write reports back to city hall, they're still figuring out and dealing with the aftermaths of the war." He put his glasses back on, making him actually look very charming, I could feel my cheeks getting warm at the sight of him looking back at me.
Wait Roseanne, what are you even thinking!?
He snickered at me and leaned back into his chair, I guess he caught be for not responding soon enough. I bit my bottom lip.
"You like your husband in these?" He asked, raising a brow while touching his glasses. What is he even doing? I could feel my stomach flutter.
I looked to the side, but responding.
"I could wear them everyday if you like them. What do you think?" He was still staring at me while I looked back at him, frowning.
"Yeah, and let's hope you poke Ellie's eyes out too."
"Fine, maybe not when she's around." He put his hands up in defeat. "Why are you here sweetheart?"
I flushed at the nickname he gave him, the one he always uses somehow still has some sort of effect on me. "I should I ask you the same thing. At least have a break, you've been here after breakfast haven't you?"
He let out a breath and looked around the room, more so out the window. "What time is it?"
"Half past eleven?" I smiled, knowing that he will probably give in to what I wanted.
"Fine," He said standing up, grinning at me. "I'll rest now." And before I could even do anything he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me towards him.
"Good." I whispered as he dug his face into the crook of my neck, breathing lightly, leaving light kisses against my skin.
"Is Ellie okay?" He asked, pulling away to make eye contact with me while keeping his arms in place. I smiled while nodding, wrapping my arms around his neck.
"She's taking a nap after eating?"
"Again?" He asked.
I just frowned, what does he mean by that? "She's a six month old, naps are essential to her. Plus, she'll wake up after an hour or two."
"I know, I just wish I can spend a bit more time with her." He sighed. I could feel my heart drop at what he said, slowly warming it up too.
I gave him a sweet smile in return. "You could always go see her while she's sleeping. In fact, we could go to her nursery right now."
He raised a brow. "Won't you beat me up if she wakes up?" Asking jokingly. Wow, is that what he thinks of me now?
"Hey," I frowned. "I'm not that violent. Plus, you can't say that when you just came back from a war. Do you want to see your daughter or not?"
