*Bzzzzzzzz bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz bzzzzzzzzzzzzz...bzz bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz*

"Mhmmm" Margot turned around to feel for her phone. She was sure she left it on the bedside table to charge, not feeling it however, she felt for it under my pillow. Finding the slim rectangular device, she opened her eyes slightly to find the stop button. If Margot opened her eyes any more than this, she would wake up fully. That was something she did not want. She wanted to sleep some more. Margot stopped the alarm and then snuggled into her blanket to catch a few more minutes of sleep. Just 15 more minutes. 15 more min....

*bzzzzzzzzz bzzzz bzzzzzzzzzzz* I swear to God I just turned off that alarm 10 MINUTES AGO. I know I did. Margot thought.

She reluctantly pulled herself out of sleep once more. This time she did not escape the headache that came with it. She felt around for her phone again, repeating the process of feeling the bedside table before checking under her pillow. Finding the device under her pillow again, she opened her eyes slightly to look at the phone screen. It was a phone call from Dalles. Why was I getting a phone call from her at this time? She thought.

Margot picked up the phone.

M: Hellooo

Margot's voice came out raspier than she intended.

D: Lol. You're still in bed. Check the time.

M: mmmmhmmmm

Margot turned over. Now she was on her back, her hands holding the phone above her. When the phone screen came on she squinted.

Why the fuck was this so bright in the morning. Margot thought.

Looking at her screen she saw a 0... then a 7 .... Then two 1s. At first she thought it was 07:11 am but then her brain finally kicked in and she slowly registered the time in front of her. It was 7 minutes past 11 in the morning. 11:07 am. Almost noon. Margot shot out of bed getting into a sitting position with her eyes wide open and her phone now between her legs. She then put Dalles on speaker whilst waiting for her brain to properly boot.

M: Fuck Fuck Fuck Fuck. I've missed the first lecture for the semester haven't I? Omgggggggg I shouldn't have gone back to bed.

D: lol. You guys she slept in. she just woke up.

She's probably talking to Vanora and Betha. Margot thought.

M: Omggggg. Dalles thanks for calling. I have to get ready. Next class is by 1 yh?

D: yeah. At the Law Building. It's contract law.

M: *sighs*. Okay I have a bit of time. I'll see you around 12:30. You guys will be at the courtyard yh?

D: mhmm... We're going to get some food now.

M: That's alright. See you soon. Bye

D: See you!

*Ends call*

This was why Margot always reminded herself not to go back to bed. Because in her sleep she felt like it's just been 5 minutes but it always ends up being hours. She got up from bed and then made her way to the bathroom. The lights automatically came on when she stepped in and she squinted again. The headache she got from pulling herself out of sleep earlier was reinforced when her eyes started adjusting to the bright lights. She picked up her toothbrush to start preparing. Before she started she got her phone and placed it carefully on the ledge above the toilet. She played the c-drama she was watching before she fell asleep the night before.

This particular romance drama was the culprit behind Margo going to bed late, as well as her current fatigued state. I wish I had gone to bed earlier. She thought. But honestly, Margot did this all the time. She would watch some drama or read some webtoon late into the night, wake up fatigued, and then say "I'm never doing this again. I'm going to bed early".... But then she'd always do it again. Margot sighed and then started getting ready. In the middle of brushing, everything she had forgotten suddenly came rushing back. She felt every action, word, and emotion the events of yesterday brought. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

Like the webtoon she had finished the day before, her pa had arranged a marriage for her. A political one at that. Margot now remembered why she had locked herself in her room, surrounding herself with fictional characters and taking comfort in romantic stories that she would never experience. Because she was now stuck in a situation she could never get out of. One that would undoubtedly cost her a romantic life.

Bowing her head and staring at the porcelain white of her sink, Margot continuously cursed, the minty lather in her mouth muffling every profanity.

A/N:

Sigh. I really don't like this chapter. Hope you enjoyed it regardless.
