His Worst Mistake

Shiny....

It had been a month since Troy recovered from his illness. He and Margot had been joined by the hip. John still had a hard time forgiving the woman and he always just silently worked as the pair clowned around in the office. 

*ring ring* 

Margot's phone rang and she moved to pick the call.

"WHAT?!" she suddenly yelled and the two men in the study flinched. 

Margot started to reach for her bag and Troy frowned. 

"Where you going?" Troy mouthed and Margot looked at him. She raised  finger to signal to the man to give her a minute. 

Soon the call ended and Margot turned to Troy. 

"Daniel attempted suicide....I need to get to the hospital" Margot said in panic and Troy's eyes widened.

"Let me drive you" he offered and Margot hummed in agreement. 

Soon the pair were on the road to the hospital.

Margot rushed into the room to find doctors around Daniel. The boy who was now really pale sat up in his bed looking lifeless. He had dark circles and his eyes were sunken. He was a far cry from how Margot had seen him last. 

"Daniel" Margot whispered and the boy whipped up his head at her voice. He searched for her through the crowd of people and once he spotted her, he tried to get off the bed and towards her. Margot shook her head and made her way to him. She took him into her arms once she reached him and the boy hugged her back.He held onto Margot like she was some sort of lifeline.

Margot rocked the boy back and forth. She looked to the side at the doctor and the doctor sighed. 

"I think he heard something about the upcoming trial related to his situation. He might have heard the names of one his abusers and that triggered him. We're thinking of moving the TV from his room" the doctor informed with a sigh. 

"I see..." Margot said before looking down at Daniel " Were you very scared?" Margot asked and the boy remained silent. 

Margot looked at the doctor again and the doctor understood. She turned to leave and also urged the other medical staff to exit the room. Troy stood quietly at the back of the room towards the door. 

Margot looked at Daniel and then gestured towards Troy. "You've met him before hmm? This is my husband...his name is Troy" Margot said and Troy almost choked on his own oesophagus. His eyes widened but he quickly regained himself.

Daniel stared at Troy and Troy smiled at him. 

"Troy this is Daniel" Margot said and Troy raised a hand up to say hi. The man did not go close to the boy for fear that he may trigger him.

Daniel nodded his head in response.

"Wanna tell em what happened? It's okay if Troy is here...as you can see...he really doesn't speak much..." Margot said with a chuckle.

"D-d-ont want to be here" Daniel said and Margot frowned.

"Why?" She asked and Daniel hung his head.

"Broken" Daniel said and Margot sighed. She hugged the boy again.

"No..no...who said that?" Margot asked and the boy stayed silent.

Margot had a discussion with the boy, mostly her talking and Troy just stood in the background admiring how good she just seemed to be with this type of things. 

From what he had picked up, the boy had started to develop suicidal thoughts due to his self esteem and self worth dropping. He felt so dirty he didn't think he deserved to keep living. The boy also questioned whether he was less inferior and that was why he had those things done to him.
