It had been two weeks since Margot's encounter with drunken Troy. In those two weeks, Margot had locked herself in her study with the excuse of being very busy. Margot was not lying however. It was springtime and there were various festivities and celebrations she had to plan and oversee within and outside the country. Margot also had to plan and approve budgets and spending. Margot buried herself in work to escape feeling or thinking about anything else. Margot would fall asleep as soon as she hit her bed and wake up in time to get ready for work. Margot liked that she could not think. Before her crippling thoughts could come to life, Bree would come in with one issue or a new task that needed doing.
The King had recently fallen ill. Margot had paid her respects to him separately and chose a time she was sure would not coincide with Troy or Astrid's schedules. Not like Astrid had a schedule... she spent her days cuddling up to Troy. It made it easier for her. This meant as long as she avoided Troy, she avoided Astrid.
Margot had three key events lined up for the week. She had a charity event at one of the towns currently going through a drought. She had to go see how they were faring, discuss with its leaders on plans to revive the town's economy and also participate in giving away food and necessities. Margot was not herself however. Margot felt sick these past two weeks but she steeled herself and asked Bree to prepare for her departure. Margot also had to attend a climate change and green environment event on the beach. This event promoted sustainability, greener living, and greener practices for businesses and households around the country. The second town was close to the coastline and thus, she also needed to discuss preventing littering on the beaches during this visit. After that she was set to attend a social event with Troy. The last event, Margot was reluctant to attend. It was one hosted by a neighbouring country to celebrate 200 years of successful trade and diplomatic collaboration with Softlia so far. She had no strength left in her to face Troy. She planned to extend her trip to the second town so she could slip out of attending the event with Troy.
As Margot finished discussing travel, food, security, and accommodation plans for both herself and Palace personnel that would accompany her, Astrid barged into Margot's study.
Astrid stood before Margot with a mocking smile on her face. Astrid curtseyed. "Greetings PRINCESS" Astrid said in a mocking tone to match.
Margot just looked at Astrid and then returned to her paperwork. Astrid who saw Margot ignore her frowned. Before she could say anything, Bree asked what she wanted.
"Lady Astrid. The Princess is quite busy with paperwork considering the change of seasons. If you would like, I can be of assistance to whatever query you may have." Bree said in a curt tone.
Astrid hmphed and then crossed her arms on her chest. At the action, her large breasts peeked out of the top she wore. Bree looked away in embarrassment.
"I want you to take me with you on your trip"
Bree looked at Margot who did not even stop writing at Astrid's words. Bree looked back at Astrid and informed Astrid in a curt tone " Lady Astrid, I am afraid there is no place for you on this trip. The palace has planned this trip and the matters being handled are quite dire."
Astrid shifted on one hip. "Well they could just re-plan it to include ME!" she said in an ignorant tone.
Bree sighed inwardly. "Lady Astrid. I am afraid that is impossible. Moreover, I fear this trip might not be any fun for you. There will be no time to have fun or shop."
Astrid lunged forward and past Bree. She stomped towards Margot and slammed both her hands on Margot's desk. Bree was taken aback and her body shivered. Margot looked up from her paperwork. Astrid stared her in the eyes and glared at her. "Just you wait and see" Astrid told her in a bitter tone before turning around to storm out of the study.
