Troy returned to the blanket and set the boys down. Margot handed the boys Sippy cups with orange juice and ice in them.
Troy took a seat on his chair and watched the woman interact with the two boys.
Margot then stretched out a glass to Troy. The same orange juice which he detests was handed to him in a glass filled with ice.
Despite this, the man eagerly collected the glass from Margot without thinking twice, whispering a thank you, and then gulping down its contents with his head thrown back.
Margot smiled as she collected the glass back.
Margot handed the man a paper plate with some snacks and sandwiches on it and the man happily obliged. Turns out playing with kids did use up a lot of energy. He was starving and he definitely did not mind something to eat at the moment.
The four ate making light conversation with laughs ringing out at intervals.
Soon the picnic came to an end. Troy offered to drop them off and Margot declined. The familiar sleek black car was already waiting for them.
Troy's smile dimmed but he nodded.
He carried the two boys in his arms once more and then dropped them by their car.
"See you next time boys" Troy said as he ruffled both boys' curls. The boys beamed up at him and Troy smiled.
The boys yelled their byes and then toddled into the car.
Margot smiled as she looked up at Troy.
"Thank you for today." Troy told her. Margot smiled and turned to leave.
Before either knew what was happening, Troy had grabbed onto Margot's wrist.
Why he had grabbed onto her? Troy did not know but he wanted to. He had not wanted to let her go, but he had to.
Margot turned to look at the man with a confused expression.
Troy immediately let go of the woman's wrist.
"I-I I'm sorry...I'- I j-just..." Troy started to say but Margot gave him a thin smile.
"It's okay" she said before walking off and getting into the car.
Troy hung his head as he rubbed the back of his neck. As the car drove off, Troy saw his guards reveal themselves from the corner of his eye.
"Let's pack up and go" Troy said as he made his way to the car waiting for him.
Margot who sat in the car which glided smoothly rubbed at hr wrists, the place Troy grabbed tingling with a warmth she hated herself for missing.

"Margot? What do you aim to do by all this?" Knox questioned his friend.
The younger woman sat in the coffee shop salivating at her almond croissant. Even after her pregnancy, Margot craved croissants like they were her oxygen source.
"I just hope for the boys to have a good relationship with their father ... that's all" Margot old Knox flatly
Knox raised an eyebrow.
"And you're sure your feelings have no involvement in this?" Knox questioned again.
"Knox...what are you playing at?" Margot asked her friend, now staring the blue-eyed man straight in the eyes.
"Margot....I'm worried. I don't- I can't....I can't bear to see you hurt...again" Knox told Margot calmly.
Margot smiled.
