Troy sat at the head of the meeting table. 12 investigators sat by each side of him. And paperwork filled the table. Each investigator had a laptop set up in front of them.
"My Prince, I do not think these allegations against the Princess are true. We have done thorough investigations and Margot signed all papers she needed and gave speeches she needed to. We also have pictures to prove this. However, we have no current information on the alleged affair and child with her Personal guard." One Investigator said.
"Well....I hope all you have is enough to free the Princess" Troy said flatly.
The investigator looked shocked. During the past 14 days the Princess had been held in the dungeons, Palace Staff had been surprised by the Prince's behaviour. One would think that the Prince would do all he could to prove the Princess innocent but Troy seemed to want to prove Margot guilty of all the rumours.
The Investigators had more than enough reasons to believe Margot to be innocent but Troy had called a hearing and strong evidence was needed when a matter ultimately came down to a hearing. The upcoming hearing would be similar to a criminal trial. A jury would be present and each side would have a lawyer representing them.
Margot's lawyer was none other than her brother Kristian. It seems his Masters in Criminal Justice and subsequent qualification as a Solicitor, which he has never bothered to use, was proving useful. This was the 'one day' their father was probably talking about when he forced Kristian to study something related to his profession.
Troy stood up from his seat. "You see I am tired of having meetings upon meetings about this. I want to be clear. Our take on this is that the Crown Princess is guilty of all allegations against her."
"But My Prince..." An investigator shot up from his seat wanting to protest.
"SIT DOWN. If you like your life and your JOB you WILL sit. back. down. I do not care for the Palace's policy on protecting the backs of its members. Margot should have thought of that when she was spreading her legs for a MERE GUARD!!!! Your job is to protect the ROYAL FAMILY and not just ONE member of it." Troy spat out
The investigator hung his head and then sat back down.
"AM I CLEAR!?" Troy shouted.
*silence*
Troy looked across the room and half of the room had started packing their things up and closing their laptops. Troy was confused. Soon 12 investigators had handed his secretary white envelopes and then exited the room. The other twelve hung their heads and clenched their fists.
Troy was unsure as to what was going on. He looked at John who started opening the letters. John took a look at the first letter and his face went pale.
"M-My Prince. T-they have--"
"SPIT IT OUT JOHN...I don't have time" Troy roared
"My Prince they have resigned."
Troy frowned.
"On what basis?"
John opened the letter and read from it.
"I appreciate the opportunity given to me by the Royal Family to be a part of this Country's administration. However, I hold my professional integrity to be fair and promote justice. I refuse to be a part of this case as I believe it to be promoting injustice against an innocent party.
I apologise, but I take this opportunity to resign from this great post. I wish the Royal Family prosperity as always."
John stopped reading there. The rest of the letter was all proper formalities.
