A curt nod...

Margot slowly recovered from her illness. She woke up this morning feeling just a bit sick but she reckoned she was fully healed now.

"Mummmyyyyyyy!!!" Two voices rang as little steps thudded over to her.

Soon Margot felt the weight of the two little boys on her.

Margot had not been able to spend much time with her sons as she did not want to pass whatever bug she had to them.

"Hey babbiesss" Margot said sweetly as she ruffled the boys' hair.

"Is mummy better now?!"Matt asked

Margot smiled "Yes mummy is better now...how was your trip with daddy? Uncle Gray told me you guys were exhausted by the time you came back?" Margot asked.

"It was fuuunnn mummy...Mr Troy jumped with us and Matt kept jumping onto Mr Troy's back. Mr Troy bought us food and ice cream...We had fun mummy" Theo said excitedly as his brother nodded to his words with a smile.

"I'm glad to hear that" Margot said.

"But mummy...Mr Troy left before we woke up. Uncle Gray said he could have us until 7 pm but Mr Troy left early." Theo said

"Mummy? I was sad when I woke up and Mr Troy was not there...Did we make Mr Troy too tired?" Matt asked nervously.

Margot chuckled. "No...No...Mr Troy must have had an emergency. You know when mummy has an emergency and has to leave for work on a weekend?" Margot asked and the boys nodded. Although she was unsure as to why the man had left, she was glad she was able to make some sort of excuse for now to placate the kids' worries.

Margot shuffled in bed and slipped out her covers. "Comeoonnn...bath time. You're bathing with mummy today" Margot said as she pulled open her curtains.

The boys squealed and jumped up and down, the springs squeaking as they jumped.

It was Saturday morning and Margot was waiting for Troy's usual text to request meeting the boys. He would normally suggest something and then appear later on to spend time with the boys. It was now 10:00 am and Troy had still not texted. Margot was about to give up when her phone pinged.

Troy Warren: Sorry I'm late. I had to fly over late due to a meeting going over time. I should be pulling up in two minutes.

Margot stared at the man's message.

Margot: Okay...will get the boys' ready.

As Margot moved to stand, the doorbell rang.

She opened the door to Troy who stood still dressed in Royal Regalia.

'He was not lying' Margot thought to herself.

Margot smiled at the man. "Hello" she said.

Troy gave her a curt nod. "Hello" he replied before walking into the house.

Troy had a difficult time through the week. The last thing he could do save his image in front of his sons and Margot's family was to at least not chase after a woman who was already taken. He would focus on being the best father he could to his sons.

As Troy walked into the house, two pairs of tiny feet thudded down the stairs.

Troy looked up and came eye to eye with the two pairs of familiar green eyes he had gotten to know over the past months.

"Mr Troooyyyyyy!!" The twin boys squealed. Troy smiled at the boys and chuckled and Margot felt a prick at her chest.

"Heyyyy booyysssss" Troy yelled and the three 'men' ruffed and tuffed by the stairs.

Troy carried the two boys in his arms and into the living room. He laid them carefully on the sofa and attacked them with tickles.

"Kyaaaaaaaa" the boys squealed as they tried to get away from their father.

Margot watched them from the door. Troy stopped attacking the boys and then stood to walk to Margot.

"I'll just hang out with them int he living room. Cook and stuff. You can take some time off. The boys told me you were sick" Troy said to her.

Margot cleared her throat.

"Ah...yeah. But I can-" Margot started to say but Troy had cut her off.

"It's okay. I'll do it. Get some rest" Troy reassured her.

Margot nodded and turned to leave. She had a feeling something had shifted and changed since the last time they say but she could not tell what exactly had changed.

She could not put a finger on it.

Troy played with the boys. He went over homework with them and did his best in teaching them what he could.

The man cooked lunch and washed up. He changed the boys' clothing and settled them to watch TV. The boys finally fell asleep at 7pm. He tucked them into bed and then placed a kiss on each boy's forehead.

Troy was satisfied and then turned to leave. He softly shut the boys' door.

As he got to the bottom of the stairs, he saw Grayson waiting for him.

He gave Grayson a curt nod before picking his coat and exiting the house.

As Troy left the property, he told himself he had done a good job. No conflict and a positive relationship with the boys. That was what he wanted.

Troy sighed.

A/N:

Sigh.
