Margot sat opposite Troy as an awkward tension filled the room. Grayson sat beside Margot and the boys played in the middle of the three adults. Margot could sense her friends and her five other brothers stationed at different parts of the living room and kitchen just waiting for the entire thing to unfold. Margot had invited Knox but Knox told her that he would not want to be there as it was a 'private and family' matter. Margot was a bit hurt by the man's words because she considered them closer than that. She respected the man's wishes regardless.

"I-I'm grateful for this opportunity. I'm really really grateful. I-I...nothing I can say can express how glad I am" Troy stuttered out under the peering eyes of Margot's army.

Grayson scoffed and Kristian was battling his urge to laugh.

"Well....boys?" Margot called out.

The twins turned to their mother with a questioning look.

"I want you to meet someone" Margot said, beckoning on them to come forward. The boys ran to their mother, each boy clutching onto a thigh.

Theo hid further into his mother's embrace but Matt stood more bravely with a defiant air around him.

"Theo...Matt? This man here is King Troy Warren. He's your birth father...uhm your...daddy" Margot said nervously...struggling with breaking the news to the boys.

Silence filled the room as all the adults waited for the boys' reactions.

Theo was the first to break the silence unexpectedly. Everyone expected Matt to start interrogating the older man.

"But we already have a daddy...daddy Knox is our daddy...isn't he? He does daddy things for us." Theo blurted out causing Margot's eyes to widen.

Troy's chest clenched to the tightest its ever been. His chest hurt and his midsection fet heavy with anxiety and regret. He grabbed at his suit trousers and the air was now very awkward. Whilst the entire crew hated guts, they imagined the nasty feeling Troy must have had hearing that from his own son. But who could blame the young boy...Knox HAD been there since the boy could recognise faces.

Matt said nothing and glared at the man. He pushed away from his mother's side.

"Yes...we already have a daddy!" Matt yelled before grabbing his brother's hand and dragging them both towards the stairs. With little steps, the two boys were gone.

Grayson stood from his seat.

"Well, I guess we're done here..." he said nonchalantly before leaving to the kitchen. Soon the silence was filled with everyone chatting and going about the house like nothing had happened.

It pained Troy more to see and know that no one had really cared about him. He had not hoped for them to care, but he hoped they could try and understand that he had no control over his situation. Having no control over who he was, where he was or what he did. Troy did not feel human, he did not feel like a person. He felt like he was a puppet. He had been filled and then emptied, reduced to a shell of himself.

The man who had lost himself and battled with knowing who he truly was hung his head and clenched his teeth. His chest hurt so much he wished he would die. He had nothing to live for, not a family, not a soul.

Troy looked at Margot who was already looking at him with a blank expression. Troy then wore a defeated expression and rose to his feet.

He gave Margot a wry smile and bowed to her, saying nothing as he turned to leave the house. With the click of the door, Margot grabbed at her knitted skirt wondering if she had truly made the right decision of just letting the man go.
