Troy's eyes fluttered open and he was immediately met with shar pain in his head. He looked to his side and saw a drip bag hanging from a steel pipe with a hook. He raised his left hand and he saw he was now hooked to the drip bag. Troy looked around his room. It was still and quiet. The last thing he remembered was trying to explain to Margot something. He immediately remembered something and he sharply at up in bed. This resulted in waves of sharp pain coursing through his head. Troy brought his free hand to his head and winced.
At that moment his door opened and John walked in.
"Your Majesty...you're awake..." John said softly and then walked towards Troy with the tray of food in his hands.
"What happened?" Troy asked and John pursed his lips.
"You collapsed from exhaustion, a cold and a fever. I'm sorry Your Majesty...we should've been more attentive" John finally said.
Troy waved his hand "No..No..I should have looked after myself better" Troy said flatly.
John scoffed in his heart. 'If you know that...why do you keep playing as that family's lap dog.' John sneered in his heart. This happened because Troy kept trying to suppress everything about him. He was walking on needles in his own palace. He kept quiet and his feelings were always bottled up. Why wouldn't he fall sick...
John cleared his throat and handed Troy a spoon. Troy looked at the food and felt nauseous. He shook his head.
John frowned. "Your Majesty?" he asked concerned
"I don't want to eat..." Troy said and John shook his head.
"I'm sorry sir but you have to...we cannot risk losing you" John said as he pushed the tray towards Troy. "You might throw up but it's better some portion of the food goes into your system" John continued and Troy eyed the man.
Troy decided to force himself to eat. Mid way he had to stop. Joh nodded in satisfaction but reluctantly took the tray away. Troy settled back into bed and soon he fell into sleep. Hours later, Troy woke up but he felt the urge to vomit.
He tried getting up as quickly as possible but he was still hooked to the drip. The man hunched over the side of the bed and poured his guts out.
He was retching when John ran into the room.
Troy finally felt better and he fell back into bed.
John frowned so deep that his eyebrows almost met.
"I'm okay John...just...just help me clean up" Troy breathed.
John called in two ladies who hurriedly cleaned Troy's room. John himself tended to cleaning and wiping Troy's body down.
Over the next two days, Troy's health worsened. He had to be transported to the Royal Hospital via airlift.
The man who had not seen Margot since his ailment sighed in his heart as he laid staring at the metal roof of the helicopter.
The woman really must not have cared for him as much as he did her.
Troy closed his eyes and drifted to sleep as the helicopter lifted from the Palace.
As soon as Troy departed, a barefoot Margot had com running and huffing to the helipad.
She watched as the helicopter got farther and farther.
John appeared behind her and Margot rushed at him, grabbing him by the collar.
"You mad man....WHY!!!" Margot screamed.
John stared Margot in the eyes, his eyes reflecting his current anger towards her and Margot flinched. "You neglect him and then you act like you care. I beg of you...if you're not really serious about His Majesty, then please let him down slowly. You have more important things to care about however. It's not like you don't have a family to go back to. Please just leave him if you're going to neglect him for weeks on end and then come back like nothing happened. His Majesty does everything for you.
He's suppressed his feelings and wants so much that he's gotten sick. He's walking on needles in his own Palace to please your family that regard him as air. But you dare to barge into his study and ask why he feels he's not family to you? Have you ever looked around you to see how others treated him when you were not looking? Or if the boys called him father, dad, daddy? Once I tried to get the boys to say daddy and do you know what they told me in front of His Majesty? 'Isn't Uncle Knox already Daddy?'.
Have you ever sat your family down and explained or announced that you and His Majesty were together or did they just see you two get along and look the other way? Don't you think they assume you're making some kind of temporary bad decision? Did you stop to think about all these? Did you ever try to make them accept Troy in some way and see him as someone who was permanent in you and the boys' lives? No? Because you subconsciously also took your relationship with His Majesty as something you could easily discard of. His Majesty showed you off to the world but whilst your family knew about your 'naughty affairs' with His Majesty, he still remained your dirty little secret.
You realise it's not just His Majesty and your feelings that matter. It's not just your bedroom matters either...You don't need to be our queen. I'm not forcing you to. But please take care of His Majesty's heart. That's the least you can do for the man you claim to love who has no parents, or relatives he can rely on. His Majesty has been alone in this world for as long as I've known him." John said with scorn in his voice.
"Love? How can you claim you love someone you were comfortable not seeing for weeks? I appreciate your love for your friends and family but does it require your partner...sorry forgive me I forgot his position in your heart for a second...your lover to be ignored? If his Majesty did not hear from you for an hour, several knights would have already been sent to enquire about your whereabouts. Do you think you leave the Palace without surveillance? You think the King is just very carefree. You think the man has no enemies he needs to be wary about? You think your sons are not being targeted by the ones that call themselves 'Royal Relatives'? You think the throne is not being sought after because His Majesty remains single and solely in charge of all national affairs? The King is always anxious about your safety and wellbeing. He also acts the way he does because he's afraid you'll feel neglected or doubt his feelings. But most days you snap at him and tell him to give you space...to act mature. To stop being clingy...to respect himself. Not a single text...not a single call. I understand that due to past events, you may not be able to say the words His Majesty may want to hear but actions still speak louder and hold more weight than words. Love you say? Don't make me laugh..." John scoffed before pulling his collar from Margot's hands and then turning to leave.
It had started to rain and as John's back disappeared, Margot fell to floor, the water underneath her making a splash sound. She stared into the air, her thoughts running wild.
Margot had begged to see Troy since he collapsed but John had refused her. The man saw no reason to. He held a grudge against the woman.
