Chapter Thirteen

I move to the area of the screams knowing soon what will be coming after that yell, I loop through the trees and try to locate where Annie is I don't know how I would tell the others about what her scream can do without sounding suspicious.

I've come close enough that I can see blonde hair, unevenly cut blonde hair and my heart drops at the full sight.

It's Annie and she is all tangled up in wires, that are piercing her skin coming in one way and right out the other.

It pains me to see Annie like that, yes we have our differences, but she is my sister. I watch from the distance as Hange comes up to Annie, as Commander Erwin, and Captain Levi just watch.

"Fire!" Commander Erwin yells, Hange smiling as new wires are threading into Annie's skin, I cover my mouth this is so inhumane.

"Poor thing, can't as much bat an eyelash, can we? Must be frustrating get used to it, my dear. Biology can often be a curse case and point, the more your wounds heal the stiffer your joints become."

And then they start to laugh, laughing at the titan in front of them that this titan cannot do anything.

I like Hange but they can be so sick, it's like they have no morals.

As they continue to talk Levi and Moblit come down to strike Annie's nape, I want to jump in front of them and stop both of them and throw them off of her, but I can't I'll give up my position and I know Annie can do this herself.

I hate that I care dearly for someone who couldn't give a shit about me, someone who has no heart.

I watch as Captain Levi stands on top of her head talking to her, ridiculing her I can tell Annie doesn't like it one bit.

Her eyes wander around before they stop on a certain tree, on me.

My eyes go wide, and I quickly turn my head downwards so she can't continue to look directly at me, but it doesn't matter Annie has something up her sleeve another scream.

A real one, not a warning one, a scream that will summon them near her in an instant.

She opens her mouth and out comes a scream even louder now that I'm closer, it's gut retching and could easily make anyone's ears bleed in an instant.

The wind is now being blown like crazy almost pushing me off the tree, my hair comes flying down probably all matted now from the curls bunching together. I grab onto the trunk of the tree as best as I can praying, I don't fall.

Once the screaming has stopped, I look back at Annie, her face is the same as mine blank never do we have an expression written on our faces I'm starting to think it's just in our blood.

As everyone is chatting among themselves wondering what she just did, I know but I'm not worried about them because they are coming for her.

One by one I watch as the titans come Captain Levi slices three up right as they enter his view, but more just keep coming and they won't stop they're everywhere the Commander commands everyone to attack but soon makes them withdraw once he sees what is happening, they're eating the female titan.

But I know what is happening it is a diversion to let Annie escape, I can see her using the gear to get away I decide if I should go after her, and I decide I should.

I follow in the direction she went in, following close behind her she is in uniform. Of course, because she already had this planned.

She stops on a tree and turns around to me, "finally came to your senses?"

I don't say anything as I walk up next to her and take a seat on the tree branch we're on, she grabs a flare gun from my bag I don't say anything. "How's the regiment?" She asks playing around with the gun, "is it everything you hoped for? Are you happy you didn't listen to the plan we were given?"

"It's fine." I tell her ignoring the annoyance in her voice, "is the military police everything you hoped for?"

She rolls her eyes at me, "Adelita. Yes, it's just been everything I've hoped for because I am this close to capturing Eren Jeager. Once all is done; we can return unless you plan to tell everyone what we are."

I take a while before I answer her, shaking my head while looking into her eyes.

"No, instead I will assist you I don't know why I ever thought to betray your orders or Marleys."

"Looks like someone did come to their senses." She tells me rubbing my back slowly, she is the only person I could trust to lay their hands on me. I look down at my lap breaking eye contact with her as I start to wipe my now wet eyes, so she can't see me.

How could I do something like this?

My tears start to fall faster when she shoots the flare gun, initiating that she is staring it. But I quickly wipe my tears away and place back on that same plain expression I always bear, Annie places her hand down in front of me I grab it and stand up.

Also grabbing a discarded cape next to me so I can still hide who I am, Annie throws the gun to the floor and we both swing off with our gear.

"I have to give it to you Adelita, I thought you were for them when you almost killed me. Who were you going to kill me for, Armin?"

I bite my lip and ignore her as the thought of Armin comes to my head, I betrayed him even worse I betrayed Marco.

Damn can Adelita make up her goddamn mind of who she's for, like shit getting me so annoyed... anyways i forgot to say this but i will write Hange with the pronouns of they/them if anyone was confused.
