Chapter Forty-One

We finally arrived at the Reiss state chapel, Hange quickly found a door hidden underneath a carpet they assume its where Eren and Historia should be.

I stand on the opposite side of the room watching as Armin sets up our traps, I move my gaze to Mikasa her face is cold I feel the hairs on my arms stand up from her gaze. Her eyes aren't even looking my way but still, I feel as if they're staring me down as if she is examining everyone.

"Okay, we should be ready to go now," Armin whispers looking towards the captain and Hange.

"All right then. Is everyone here ready? Cause you're all about to dirty your hands."

The room stays silent as the captain takes that as his answer, "guess that's a yes."

Slowly the captain opens the little door on the ground he then ushers Armin to pass him the barrels, he does just that throwing all the ones we made down into the new part we just discovered.

Quickly then he tells all of us to enter the door, but all we are met with is another door.

Captain Levi kicks the door busting it right open all the barrels come out, and quickly Sasha follows the captain out shooting the barrels causing a huge reaction from the gunpowder.

Soon the rest of us follow, all of us ready.

Mikasa and the captain are taking the lead, and we should just help by distracting the enemies long enough. But if needed we do jump in.

I quickly bend down right as all the smoke clears, watching as Mikasa and Levi swing off knowing it's time I pull out my flare gun.

Green smoke begins to fill the area covering Mikasa and Levi just like we wanted, during that time I take a quick minute to look around at my surroundings.

Everything is the same here, it's the same blue icy walls, floors, and ceilings.

Is it ice? Or could it just be hardened crystals?

My hand grazes the floor, a smooth cold touch is what I feel in response.

I feel a hard hit on my head causing me to quickly lookup, Jean is beside me gritting his teeth. "Stay focused."

Before I can say anything, the captain's voice is heard echoing through the walls, "thirty-five total! In the upper parts of the pillars! Continue the plan we'll take them all out right here!"

"Let them spread out, then surround them!"

Quickly I ditch my flare gun grabbing both of my swords, not wasting a single second.

I lift off into the air as more barrels explode around me, once again black smoke fills the air blinding me even more.

"God, I can't see shit!" I hear one of the men yell I follow the voice, emerging from the smoke right behind him. He hasn't a clue, I quickly remember what Armin told us.

"The Anti-Personnel ODM gear has a big weakness. The anchor points in the same direction as the gun so once it's been deployed, the gun can't be aimed again. This means while the users are moving, they're vulnerable to an attack from behind."

I raise the blade bringing my fist into his head first taking him by surprise letting me be able to take the kill.

In a swift movement, I raise my left sword up, I bring it right over his neck pressing it hard as I slice his throat.

Blood quickly forms rolling down onto my sword, I make a face in disgust pulling it away from him as he lets go of his gear trying to grasp onto his neck. Only causing him to fall straight down in the process.

A smile forms on my lips, Armin is so smart he just knows everything. This is why we need to get married; I know that if I failed my mission here and went back to Marley I would probably be killed. Or worse become a housewife for someone I don't care about and be forced to have their kids, but if it was Armin.

I wouldn't care.

I wonder if he wants kids, if he does then I do too.

My thinking is cut short when I hear someone yell something.

"Die!" I look down seeing a woman pointing her gun at me, but once again green smoke fills the air blocking me from her view, she still takes the shot though.

I watch as the bullet zooms past me, shaking my head I make my way over to her. I lift my sword bringing it into her back her eyes go wide as blood begins to leak from her mouth, I remove the blade from her back and kick her to the ground.

Being too busy watching the woman fall to the ground I don't notice anyone coming to me, I feel a burning sensation running through my scalp as I yelp out in response. The shock of it causes me to drop my blades.

My braids are being tugged, and I then feel something cold and hard touch my temple.

"Don't be scared now." A man's voice fills my ears as I close my eye in displeasure.

He grips my hair even tighter, I want to do something, but I can't he is physically stronger than me.

"Get off of her hair!" That voice only belongs to one person, Mikasa Ackerman.

The man can't even comprehend what was said as his body drops to the floor, faster than a heavy sack of potatoes.

"Get new swords and get back out there, don't get trapped again," Mikasa commands and then swings off in a whole new direction.

I listen to her orders grabbing new ones and looking out for anyone. My eye stops on someone laying on the floor, a line of blood leaking from their shoulder my eye widens when I realize who it is.

Hange!

They're lying there not moving at all. "Now! We'll re-form our defense at the fallback point! Time to regroup!"

The woman with blonde hair yells to everyone still standing, my eye doesn't move to her still they're stuck on Hange who lies motionless on the floor.

A bright light distracts me from Hange everyone's head turns in the direction, we all know that light by now.

Wait does that mean?

"Eren!" Mikasa shouts as the sturdy pillars in place begin to shake.

"Hey, guys, this place is about to collapse." Sasha states as hot air blows around us, I look back down to where Hange was laying now seeing Armin and Moblit helping them walk, it's good to know they're not dead.

"Captain! It opened up!" Armin yells to Levi, pointing to a hole in the ceiling. Quickly the captain gets up in response.

"Okay, Armin! Moblit! You two take Hange and find a way out of here! The rest of you are with me, go!"

I sped wrote these chapters at night time while having a breakdown bc of reasons, so there may be many errors I didn't see while proofreading so please tell me. Also would anyone would like a couple chapters, like filler of Adelita's life growing up. Like when she was in Marley with Annie and all of them? I was thinking of doing but only if you guys wanted it.
