Ever since then, since Hange became commander, the whole mood has changed. It hasn't been very happy, or positive it's just been terrible.
But honestly who wants to be happy in a time like this?
I don't smile anymore; I mean the only thing that brings me joy is Armin being here.
And of course, everyone else.
Even if he hasn't been himself since he ate Bertholdt, since he was chosen over the Commander. I try to remind him though that he matters, he does the same for me.
Tomorrow we're back to work, but today right now we can relax, and I want to spend the time doing that. I don't want to have to begin fighting again.
I watch as Sasha and Connie talk, Sasha chewing loudly causing food to fly out onto Jean. He sends an annoyed look to Sasha as he joins in the conversation.
"You okay?" Mikasa asks from across me I nod taking my cup and drinking from it. "Just a little tired is all." She accepts my response and looks back down at her bowl of food.
Eren taps her shoulder and begins to speak to her, ever since the kiss on Histora's hand and he made that face.
He hasn't been acting the same.
I release my hand from Armin's as I raise from my seat. He looks at me as I begin speaking, "I'm tired. So, I'm going to go to bed."
He nods and sends me a smile as I lean down and place a kiss on his cheek, a soft blush quickly spreading.
I'll never get used to kissing Armin, it's an amazing dream for me knowing that I can do it.
It's a dream knowing he likes me.
"Adorable! Young love, I love it!" Hange yells as they swing their arm around my shoulders.
Everyone at the table jumps their loud shouts not going unnoticed, Captain Levi sighs brushing Hange away from me as he begins speaking.
"There is something, that we believe you should see."
My smile drops as Hange's hand grips my arm, "Am I in trouble? I've done nothing."
"You'll enjoy it, I think." They speak as they lead me out of the dining area, Captain Levi following close behind as we make it to a cellar.
Surprisingly Hitch is standing beside it a set of keys in her hands, she looks up to the commander and captain. They both nod as she moves to unlock the door.
"We've earned the permission to come down here, so we thought one of the first people should be you," Hange speaks as Hitch makes her way down the steps first.
All of us are following.
"See what?" I ask only to be answered with silence, we round another corner and then I see her.
Annie.
My eye doubled in size as I look at her, she looks the same as last time, but I haven't seen her in so long.
The room is filled with silence as I just stare at the large crystal in front of us, the one that is holding my sister.
Levi grabs Hange pulling them away from me.
"We'll be by the door." But when he says that Hitch doesn't move, she stands in the same spot watching me eye Annie.
"That means you too." Hange points out, Hitch begins to open her mouth to protest but the captain shoots her down.
"We'll be by the door." He states once again causing Hitch to move, once I hear the door shut, I fall to my knees.
My eye was still locked on Annie.
