Chapter Fifty-Three

After Armin had eaten Bertholdt he had passed out, Captain Levi demanded we search for any of the remaining Scouts. And that if anything happened further with Armin, like him waking up a green smoke signal will be shot.

I jump to another roof, and then I see it.

A green smoke signal.

Everyone stops moving, all looking to where it is on the roof. Looking at where Armin is laying, I don't smile but instead, I sigh.

A sigh of relief leaves my mouth.

As my feet begin to move before I can even think, Armin's okay, he's safe. I'm so happy, I just can't wait to see him I need to go now, I need to be with him.

And that is exactly what I do, quickly swinging myself to the top of the wall and looking around. Once my eye lands on blonde hair I run over, tears falling from my eye once again.

I can't control it.

Immediately I engulf Armin in a hug, throwing him backwards from how hard the impact is.

I place my lips by his ear as I begin to whisper.

"I was so scared, I thought I would have to see you die."

I squeeze him tighter as he stays silent, slowly wrapping his arms around me. I pull my head up so I can directly look at his face, and I then lean forward.

Shoving my lips onto his real fast and shoving my body as close to his as I can.

The entire kiss is disgusting, it's sloppy, wet, and salty with a mixture of blood.

But I don't care because it's with Armin, our teeth clash together as we try to make the kiss open mouth only causing me to grab the back of Armin's head and push his closer to mine.

As the kiss begins to get hotter, and deeper I start to lose my breath realizing I need to pull away to get air.

Dreading the thought of doing so, but I do it. Removing my lips from Armin while smiling so brightly at him.

I want to tell him, how I feel about him. Not that I just like him, but more than that.

But instead of looking happy, Armin wears a strange face.

"I... ate Bertholdt."

I nod slowly, "it had to be done. Don't be upset."

I say trying to soothe him only for my hand to be removed from his face, "enough of this. You two are only children, stop."

My eye trails to Captain Levi and he points for me to stand away from Armin and I do so, standing a little to the side while still watching him.

"So, to be clear, we resealed Shiganshina's gate, securing Wall Maria. Reiner and the Beast Titan escaped, along with the quadruped. You managed to capture Bertholdt. And then, with both the commander and me wounded, you had to choose which one of us to give the injection to. And you did. I transformed into a Titan and killed Bertholdt. I ate him."

Armin begins to gag and cough, I don't know why but I decided to speak up.

"You know after Annie became the Female Titan; she also threw up. I helped her through it."

Mikasa shoots me a glare as I shut my mouth.

Armin only shares a saddened look as he looks at Hange and Levi.

"Why'd choose me? No matter how you look at it, Commander Erwin's the one humanity needed the most. Captain! Why'd you give me the injection?"

Levi only looks away sucking his teeth, as he raises his leg and kicks Eren.
