Chapter Twenty-Two

My body is jolted up when I hear persistent knocking on my bars, my vision is blurry as I look ahead trying to figure out who is outside my cell.

Something is thrown from the outside onto my bed, "put this on. Say when you're done." I now recognize the voice as Captain Levi, I nod and grab at what he threw me.

It's the uniform and an eyepatch.

"Um, sir. Why would I need to put this on?" I ask while examining everything he threw into my cell; he turns his back to the front of the cell leaning back on the bars.

"Because Commander Erwin made you free, and besides we need your help. A couple of titans breached Wall Rose."

"I don't think I'm ready to fight," I tell him he turns to look at me his stare blank, he has no emotion written on his face.

"It's not what you think, it is what Erwin thinks. Now get dressed." He then turns back to his original position I mimic him while rolling my eye.

First, I place my eyepatch on adjusting it, so it fits my head right pulling all my hair over the band so you can't see it. Once I think it's fine enough, I start to get undressed my eyes watching Captain Levi the whole time to make sure he doesn't turn around.

"I'm done," I say softly. Slowly the black-haired male turns around he pulls a key from his pocket turning the lock of my cell, I smile and wait for him to open the door. Once he does, he motions for me to step out I do just that I stand and wait for him to shut the cell door.

The second he does he is pointing for me to go to the stairs, he instructs me on where to go silence fills the air as I walk in front of him.

As we reach outside, I can feel my small smile becoming bigger "thank you." I say as I turn to him, he doesn't say anything instead he brings his hand to me and pats my head.

After that he walks off in silence, I start to observe my surroundings taking in everything. It's plenty of horses and carriages with tons of people walking around getting ready.

Captain Levi never explained where I needed to go, so I just stand hoping he'll come back and explain where I need to sit. I mean aren't I not to be trusted still, it's pretty dangerous just leaving me alone if they didn't trust me.

"Adelita!" I hear my name being shouted I quickly look in the direction of it spotting Armin, Eren, and Mikasa. Armin is standing up while smiling brightly and waving me towards him, Mikasa and Eren are just waving to me.

I think I'm supposed to be with them.

And before I can think my feet already started moving, and I am in front of their carriage.

Armin grabs my hand and pulls me into the carriage I take a seat across from all of them, "You're out!" He exclaims loudly I nod slowly. "I am out," I say in response he just keeps smiling as Eren starts to talk now.

"Adelita, I am sorry for your eye. I hope I can be forgiven." I roll my one eye and make a dismissive signal with my hand.

"If you can forgive me for what I did, I can definitely forgive you for this," I tell him he nods and starts to tell me how much he has forgiven me, and he won't let what happened ruin anything.

"Before we start on the way, you need to place your hair up," Mikasa tells me quietly I nod and run my fingers through my hair. "I will as soon as we start going." She shakes her head and grabs me placing me in between her and Eren.

"I can braid." That is all she says as her hands go to my hair, I shake my head and pull away from her. "I don't like my hair being touched. Other than me of course."

But she only keeps trying. "I will be gentle; your hair can't stop you if you get into a fight with a titan."

I scratch at my hands nervously looking towards Armin, he smiles and places his thumb up.

"Okay. I guess you can do it, I don't want to lose my other eye."

Eren looks toward me with a serious look in his eyes. "I said I was sorry."

"I was only joking."

I can't say anything else as Mikasa starts to weave her fingers through my hair, completely taking me off guard I try to focus on something else, so I don't freak out.

A loud voice saves me from freaking out, that voice is from Hange.

"Sorry to keep you waiting! Took longer to prepare than I thought." They exclaim while waving their hand to us, Levi next to them and some older man that I don't recognize.

Armin stares at him in shock, sweat dripping down his face.

"He's... the priest from Order of the Walls." He states Hange just smiles and wraps a hand around his neck. "I know! Old Nick and me are as thick as thieves!"

I furrow my brows looking in between them, "I get the feeling you are lying." I say quietly as they all look at me silently, Hange just begins laughing.

"Oh! Adelita, I've missed you so much!.. But it makes just as much sense for him to be here as us. We're random." They state while drawing their eyes to Levi who sits there with his arms crossed, choosing not to engage in this.

"No, on the contrary, Erwin's thrown us together for a reason." He states as he continues to look forward, as he finishes speaking Mikasa starts on the other side of my braid.

Her hands are so fast in my hair but so soft and kind to my head I've already forgotten they were there.

She quickly finishes the braid pushing my head towards hers to examine how it looks, she places her hand in front of my face pulling my eyepatch down more, and then she tucks a piece of my hair that has escaped the braid behind my ear.

"It should be safe and secured for you, don't let it drop." She informs me I nod my head as Captain Levi calls my name, and I place my gaze on him.

"Be careful, don't let your hair loose you know the rules." He then points to Hange who is clapping their hands together.

"I can't wait to cut it!"

I nod weakly while staring at both of them, all of the talking stops though when loud yelling is heard. From the voice, we all know, Commander Erwin.

"Open the gate! The status of Wall Rose is unclear, but everything up to Ehrmich is safe that's the route we'll be taking, let's move out!"

Levi turns to the person at the head of our carriage, "you heard him." That is all he states as the person nods in confirmation.

Here we go again.

First chapter of season two!! I will be trying to get chapters out as soon as I can, It keeps me busy from thinking about how alone I am!
