' four months, 3 weeks. Her belly's growing and she looks so beautiful each passing day.'

MICHAEL

I can't sleep. I can't eat. I toss and turn till morning comes. I crawl out of bed, get ready for work, skip breakfast and leave for the office. I'm not able to concentrate or get any work done so I leave early just to go and stalk my wife.

for four miserable months, that's what I did. Because she won't let me get an inch close to her.

That's been my new routine.

The moment I walked into the rather bright office I occupied, my eyes settled on the man whose features mirrored mine. The difference being, I looked like shit and he looked like he was getting some peace for himself.

Is he here because for the first time in a while, I'm slacking.

My jaws locked up. Preparing for any mocking remarks or insults of the failure, I am.

From his hard stare, the dark hair and dark eyes, that had no end in depth. There was nothing different about the both of us. I was the spitting image of my father.

When I walked in through the doors. Grace, my father's then-assistant, tried to give me a heads up as I entered the private suite. But as usual, I paid her kindness with my arrogance these past--miserable days of mine and she just gives me a sad smile. Because that's the shit I'm running on. Being a stupid prick to everyone because currently my life sucks.

She's old enough to be a granny. Yet she chose to stay. to teach me the ropes on what to do, where to start off as the new overseer of the eastern tower.

I owe her greatly.

"Father." I earned a nod from him. He sat in what used to be his previous chair when he used to be the head of the eastern Vitality Tower. His crisps, wrinkle-free Armani suit mirrored mine. His usual hard stare was missing, throwing me off.

why is he here? if not to drill my head down with his comments.

Everything I know-he taught me. From planning, falling into a routine, putting up a wall, treacherous and money-hungry people can't break through.

'Play your cards right and you'll have people at your feet boy .'

All he cared about was his businesses -running a billion-dollar company and having people tremble at his feet. I don't blame him, he started from nothing. I can't point fingers now, I am doing the exact same thing he did-when mother left.

" It seems the 'misunderstanding' with your wife you said you would fix is taking a toll on you, Joshua," he stated. his gaze never wavered as he sat waiting on my answer. My face might not show any emotion but my blood was hurling on the inside. For the first time I don't know how to combat his words because this one offered amity.
