ANNA

The sun was still quite high in the sky illuminating the room aside from the light bulbs.
After dinner we all—everyone had pretty much finished eating by the time Michael and I returned—while everyone gathered in the living room area, Michael spoon fed me my food, in the name of " you didn't finish your dinner".

I later found the women in the kitchen since the men had suddenly decided to call for a short meeting in Jesse's home office.

The dinning room had been cleaned, The plates, Cutlery, and other utensils had been put away and washed. Despite every reason I brought up to help, they didn't let me do anything. Zara  and the girls just complained about how I needed all the rest I could get.

"I am pregnant, not broken!" I yelled out slamming my hands on the Beautiful black and white marble counter trying to get their attention, but they were trying hard in ignoring me. After trying for a while I just gave up, a frustrated grunt slipping past my lips.
A few steps away from the Kitchen and I heard their laughter echoing through the walls.
It's quite frustrating when you can't do stuff you used to freely do. Forgetting about the girls I decided to find Michael or anyone who could keep me company.

|***|

I am currently seated in one of the armchairs enjoying my favorite juice that I asked my lovely husband to get me when I finally found him in one of the rooms with Jesse, having a hushed conversation about who knows what. It's been a while since he brought it over, my glass desperately needs a refill and so does my ice-

"Hey..." I looked up and it was Marco standing over me with his hands in his pockets. His brown eyes fixed on me

"Hi" I replied this time. "What do you want?" I asked cutting him off. I didn't mean to be rude, but I just wanted to get things over and done with.

"Anna...look am sorry for what I did-"

"I know...mother dear apologized on your behalf the last time she saw me." I informed him, adjusting myself on the couch that I was gradually sinking into.

Marco, my elder brother who so dearly loves me was Speechless.

Marco was speechless. He was my best friend, the brother I could tell everything.
Leave it to Mason to report to mom or dad about anything, but he would never take matters into his own hands...unless you asked him to. Although I am grateful that Mason steeped in to defend my honor he didn't make the situation about him. He respected my wishes but Marco can't do that. All the glory to him and him alone. The serious brother. The one who wouldn't tolerate any shit.

My brothers are protective of me. I get that, I am the only girl after all but it's to an extent.
On the other hand, am not surprised that he reacted that way, because Marco always wanted to take charge where he's not needed.

Standing there with what seems like a sad  expression, he just looked down on me

"I just wanted to protect you." he voiced out

"Protect me?" I scoffed, lowering my brows. he did not just say that.

"you could still protect me by talking to me first and figuring out what the situation was before you act Marco!" I lashed out at him. My blood suddenly hit with anger.

"I didn't hurt him" he added, making me get out of my sit. He stretched out his hand to help me but I smacked it away.

"And you should be thankful you didn't, because if you had...you wouldn't like me anymore" I gritted out, standing dangerously close to him. I might be small but I can look intimidating if I want to be. He opened and closed his mouth, wanting to say something but he just shook his head, releasing a sigh. Sweat coated his forehead as he maintained eye contact.
