Chapter 20 - Happy breakfast

"Very pretty, baby,"

Leon praised as he watched his little woman standing before him, so beautiful she takes his breath away.

Anika bowed her head shyly as she rubbed the hem of her skirt. His eyes, that was so deep, but were looking at her with admiration, makes her heart tingle.

Leon saw her bashful and approached to kiss her at the top of her head. She was petite, only reaching his shoulders, and this makes him want to just hide her in his pocket.

He took her hand and lead her out before anything starts again.

"Okay, let's have breakfast downstairs. Adi must be waiting," Leon told her, nicknaming his child, and went out of the room with Anika's hand on his.

They went down to the first floor and into the dining room, where Nanny Rose was feeding Adelaide with milk.

"Mommy! Daddy!" The little child happily called.

Leon approached her and dropped a kiss on her forehead.

"We're you a good girl?" Leon asked as he turned to Nanny Rose.

Nanny Rose laughed heartily.

"Oh, she is the most well-behaved child I have ever taken care of! Aren't you?" She said as she cooed the little girl. Adelaide giggled cheerfully.

Anika smiled hearing this and approached her daughter, caressing her soft curly hair.

Adelaide turned to her mother and hug her waist.

"Mommy, Nanny is cooking delish!" She happily shared with her mother, excited about the fragrant food being cooked.

Anika smiled at her and looked thankfully at Nanny Rose. She liked the elderly woman. She was more kind than the stern ladies in waiting, back in the tower. She can feel the warm care from the woman.

Leon nodded hearing the words of Nanny Rose. Of course, his little Adi was very good, and he knew that.

While Nanny Rose, hearing the world from the child jump in her place.

"Aye! Look at this old woman, I almost forgot my kitchen if you didn't mention it!" She exclaimed as she went back to the kitchen.

The people in the dining chuckled at the cheerful woman.

Not long, Nanny Rose served the dishes. Bacon, pancakes, sunny side up, and sausages. There were also pastries and cupcakes served for desserts.

Adelaide's eyes sparkled and were stuck to the pretty and delicious cupcakes.

Leon saw this and chuckled.

"Okay, eat breakfast first before the desserts," He told her as he put food on her plate and Anika's.

"Okay~" Little Adelaide obediently responded.

Anika was also drawn to the novel treat. Both of them mother and daughter have not seen much of the world, as well as the different delicacies. So, one can say both are young and a child at heart when it comes to the outside world.

But Anika also listened to Leon's words and started to pick up the food on Adelaide's plate and started to feed her. She always put her daughter first, as they only had each other back at the tower. And right now, it wouldn't change. She loves her cute little sweetheart.

Leon saw this and smiled contentedly. Seeing Anika feed the little child, he started to pick up food as well but fed it to the woman.

Anika looked up at him in surprise. She only met Leon's smiling eyes.

"Ahh," His gentle tone coaxed.

She unconsciously opened her mouth. Leon smiled in satisfaction as he delivered the food to her mouth.

"Mommy feeds the baby, so Daddy will feed Mommy, okay?" His doting voice rang.

"Aww, so sweet. But how about Daddy, who would feed him?" Suddenly, Nanny Rose's teasing voice said.

Anika blushed and looked down in embarrassment.

Nanny Rose laughed heartily at the bashful woman and Leon just shook his head helplessly.Nanny Rose ate with them as Leon was not so strict in his household, and he treated the nanny as family.

Adelaide chewed her food and looked back and forth to the adults innocently.

Nanny Rose stopped her teasing and clapped her hands.

"Alright! How about I feed the little one so that two of you could eat in peace, hm? Anyway, it is Nanny's profession," Nanny Rose offered while putting flowery words to her job. But anyway, she loved children. That was why even though Leon offered her retirement and support, she still kept her job, anticipating the day a little munchkin would run around for her to take care of.And finally, the day arrived.

Leon finally let Nanny Rose have her way and gave her Adelaide, as he whispered to Anika to continue eating.

Anika was also at ease trusting Nanny with her child and she can see Adelaide was fond of her new Nanny.

Soon, they finished breakfast and the anticipated desserts followed. The two newbie girls enjoyed their treat.

"Yummy!" Adelaide cheered while eating her cupcake as Nanny assisted her.

Anika was also eating with relish, her eyes bright with the tasty dessert. Leon's heart warmed as he stared at them, wiping the cream on the corners of Anika's lips.

"We'll eat more delicious food in the future, okay?" He said to his little family. His being was ready to give them everything they want and deserve.

"Yey!" The little child cheered.

The dining room was full of laughter, and it was one fine meal.

After their breakfast, Leon went back to their room to change. He needed to go to the company to finish some work, as the transfer of ownership of the whole Albrecht was still a bit messy.

"I'll just go to the company for a while. I'll come back at lunchtime, and I'll take you two out, how does that sound?" He told Anika and Adelaide.

"Okay, daddy!" Adelaide cheerfully acquiesced while Anika only nodded softly.

Leon kissed his daughter's forehead and turned to Anika. He held her cheek and dropped a kiss on her lips.

"I'll be back," He whispered.

Anika looked entranced at the romantic man and nodded again.

"We'll wait for you," She whispered back.

Leon's heart squeezed and he wanted to just stay with his little family all day. But he needed to work. Girls should be spoiled, and he had two ladies in his family, so he needed to strive more.

He braced himself to nod at them and turned back to leave before he changes his mind.

Anika stared at the leaving man. He was now dressed in his expensive three-piece suit, walking out of the house with his men waiting and bowing their heads, reminding her of his authority and prestige. Whenever he dressed like this, he appears more overbearing and domineering, someone so tall and great.

But whenever he faced her, he was so gentle and affectionate, that she sometimes forgets how powerful he is.

She stared at his receding back until she couldn't see him anymore, feeling like she missed him much already.
