Chapter 27 - Intimate Wedding

"Let's dress up prettily today, okay?" Leon coaxed Anika gently, the next day after he returned from the company.

"Hm?" Anika tilted her head in question at him, but he only smiled at her and went to get her dress.

After dressing her, Leon led her out of their room until outside the house and towards the garden.

When they arrived, Anika gaped at the beautiful garden, which was decorated with exquisite arc flowers, white muslin fabrics, and a long red velvet pathway towards the center and most elaborately decorated part of the garden, where a man stood holding what seemed to be a book.

Anika turned her head back to Leon, her eyes filled with question. She wondered what was happening and why the vast garden was decorated with beautiful things all of a sudden.

"Before our grand wedding next month, I prepared an intimate wedding," Leon lightly answered her.

What happened yesterday left a shadow on him for many reasons. One, it dawned to him that if anything were to happen to Anika and their daughter, he still didn't have any legal identity that connects to them, nor did they have an identity themselves.

Another is the appearance of the Lady of the Smith family. He didn't know what underhanded means they would use just to be connected to the Albrecht family. He knew that the Smith had already got the news of the appearance of his little family, resulting in the unwanted display back at the mall. He never had any relationship with that woman, yet her suddenly doing some bold action means they were not backing down.

Therefore, Leon couldn't wait for a month anymore before officially legalizing his family. However, he was also unwilling to let go of a grand wedding his little wife deserved, so he opted to have an intimate ceremony first, just to sign the documents earlier and finally make Anika his legal wife.

Leon then spent the whole morning preparing for this beautiful intimate wedding.

Leon didn't want to explain these messy and complicated things to Anika any further, so he took something out of his pocket and kneeled on one knee, looking up at his beautiful soon-to-be wife.

"Anika, will you marry me?" His magnetic voice sounded.

He might be an ass to still ask yet already prepared everything. But this just means he wanted to drop the big question to her, yet he wouldn't take no for an answer.

She was destined to be his.

Anika stared with wide eyes at the beautiful man on his knee in front of her. She doesn't know much about human relations, and the romantic affair she knew was only that of what she read in the sole picture book back at the tower.

But she remembered the prince had also done the same to the little princess, handing her a pretty flower on bent knees.

Now, the man in her heart had also done the same, and had something prettier in his hand. It was shining brightly under the rays of the sun.

Her heart surged with emotions of happiness and pain. She didn't know why she felt painful, but her heart throbbed so much it ached.

It turns out one could be very happy till it hurts.

But Anika still smiled.

"Yes," Her soft voice answered.

In any position, she was willing to be, just to be part of his life.

In this world, only he and her little daughter were her sunshine.

Leon didn't know that his simple little girl had thought too much to this extent and only let out a satisfied smile. He put on the ring on her pretty finger and kissed it relishly. He then stood up and took her hand.

He led her to the makeshift altar, towards the judge who was his good friend that he invited to officiate this wedding.

It didn't have that many ceremonies like a church wedding, only reading the rites and exchanging rings. And it was carried to them by their little Adelaide.

Leon put another ring on Anika. Anika wondered why there was another ring, and she looked at the second one. Is this for her too? It's too big though..

But this was cut off by Leon's voice.

"Put this on me, okay?" He whispered coaxingly at her.

Anika heard this and took the ring. No wonder it was big, it was for Leon. She smiled brightly at the man and took the ring and put it on him like how he did on her.

They then signed the papers using fingerprints. And later, the judge's voice announced,

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride,"

Leon heard these wonderful words. Without hesitation, he cupped Anika's small face and kissed her sweet lips.

Finally, his wife.

After the small ceremony, the family of three posed for pictures with the photographer Leon hired, who was also his trusted friend.

Anika looked curiously at the thing the man was pointing at them, but he continuously said to smile, so she smiled obediently.

Erik, the photographer, took a couple of shots and reviewed the pictures in his camera. The pictures reflected a beautiful family, some had the beautiful bride looking curiously, and the rest was her smiling prettily.

Such an innocent and exquisite wife, he didn't know how that ascetic Leon found such a treasure.

After the pictures, Leon met him with a high five.

"Well, congrats man, what a surprise you greeted me this morning, eh?" He greeted teasingly. He just suddenly received a call from Leon and was told to take pictures at his wedding. Imagine the blow he received early in the morning. He didn't even know his good friend was seeing someone and suddenly he was having a wedding. This snicky dude.

Leon only smirked at him and held his lovely wife.

"This is Erik, my friend." He gently said to Anika. He then turned to Erik and introduced.

"Anika, my wife." He had a blinding smile that Erik almost rolled his eyes. Yes, brother, he knows she's your wife. He just witnessed the wedding.

"Hello," Erik's grumbling thoughts were cut by the woman's soft and sweet voice. He immediately smiled and held out his hand.

"Nice to finally meet you," He said with a smile.

Anika took his hand and returned the gesture heartfully. This was the first time she had met Leon's friend, and she felt happy slowly seeing his world.

Later, they were joined by the judge, who she discovered was also Leon's friend.

Leon carried Adelaide in his arms and introduced the men.

"Say hello to uncles," He coaxed.

Little Adelaide was always well behaved and likable, and this time she also waved cheerfully at the men.

"Hello uncles~"

The atmosphere brightened by the cute little girl. And after the short get together, they then entered for a hearty meal prepared.

With that, for the whole afternoon, they celebrated the becoming of the family Albrecht.
