Chapter 38 - Anika's education

The ride from the park to their home was short, and Anika and Leon went home in time for lunch.

Leon looked at his little wife, who was obviously in a good mood and was conflicted in his heart. He was happy that she had found a friend, he only wished this friend was good news.

He sighed and took a napkin to wipe the corners of her lips.

"We'll meet someone later," He gently informed her.

Anika turned to him and blinked her beautiful eyes. She nodded softly and had a curiosity in her eyes.

"Who?" She asked.

Leon added more food to Anika's plate naturally as he responded.

"Your teachers,"

"Teachers?" She echoed.

"Yes, it's time for you to learn from the professionals. Don't be afraid, I'm always here, okay?" Leon patiently explained.

Anika pursed her lips but nodded solemnly. She was a bit excited but nervous at the same time. She looked up to teachers the most, and she was happy to be taught by them.

Although, she liked Leon teaching her too. She likes him the most..

Leon saw her loving look and couldn't help but scratch her nose. This woman always drawing him to her, and she doesn't even know it.

"Alright, continue with your food," He could only say helplessly.

Anika smiled and returned to eating her food. They were all her favorites, and she had a very nice meal.

Soon, they finished their lunch and prepared to meet Anika's teachers.

One by one, the teachers Leon carefully selected arrived.

"Alright, Anika. We'll meet again next week, and we'll officially start class by then," Mrs. Ellen, one of her teachers, dismissed.

The teachers, who were hired by a big personage, were calling Anika's name comfortably. They were told to treat Anika as a normal student. And seeing the young woman very polite and obedient, they felt soft in their hearts and treated Anika more gently.

These sessions were mainly just introductions to each other as well as the syllabus. The official class will start next week.

Anika stood up and bowed to her teacher like what she saw students do at Adelaide's school.

"Thank you, teacher, goodbye," Anika bid softly.

Mrs. Ellen smiled gently and bid goodbye as well.

They walked out of the study, and Anika sent her off. Coming down the receiving area, they saw Leon waiting.

"Thank you, Mrs. Grahams," He shook the hand of the teacher politely.

"It's my pleasure, Mr. Albrecht. And Anika is such a good student, so it's no problem," Mrs. Ellen responded kindly.

Leon nodded to her and asked his guard to escort and send the teacher home.

He specifically chose teachers who were upright and professional. Someone who wouldn't easily be blinded by prestige, that was why none of the teachers were overly flattering. Also, those who will understand Anika's situation without judgment.

He wanted to give Anika the best education she deserved.

"How was class?" Leon asked as he approached his wife and hugged her in his arms.

Anika leaned at Leon's body as she looked up at him, her eyes shining with happiness.

"It was very good. And the teachers are very nice," She said in her sweet voice.

"Thank you, hubby." Anika said heartfully, her heart feeling full. He's always the best to her.

Leon shook his head helplessly and could only drop a kiss on his wife's forehead. He already said there should be no pleasantries anymore between them.

"Anything for you, baby," Leon's magnetic voice sounded.

Later that night, while the couple lay down on their bed, Anika told Leon about her day. Leon patiently listened as his hand caressed Anika's soft hair. He loved listening to her talk, completely different from when they first met. It could be seen and felt how comfortable Anika was now with him already.

"She said she's studying in college right now and lives with her aunt," Anika talked to Leon about Esther. She was very enthusiastic about this friend of hers.

Leon's eyes were deep as he listened. Listening to Anika's story, this Esther was not that bad. But his baby was too innocent, he was still worried she would be too innocent with this friendship.

However, when Anika told him her wish, he found it hard to refuse.

"Can I invite her here tomorrow?" She asked her with hopeful eyes.

Leon finally smiled and nodded.

"If you wish, baby," His slightly hoarse voice replied.

Anika jumped to sit down and happily grabbed her phone.

"Can you teach me how to message her," Anika requested again coquettishly.

Of course, the man was willing.

He took her phone and hugged her in his arms, placing the gadget before the both of them.

He first let Anika type her invitation, then he typed their address.

"Let's just inform her to drop in the main gate. I'll ask the driver to pick her up," Leon noted.

Anika nodded while staring at the phone.

After sending the message, Anika waited anxiously for Esther's reply, staring intently at the phone.

Leon can't help but feel distressed for his little woman. He sighed in his heart. He should take her out more. He wished she'll have many friends as she wanted. She's a complete angel, and he's sure everyone will love her.

Although he wanted to hide her for himself, but he also wanted to show off his baby to the world, and be loved by many.

This was a sweet conflict in Leon's heart.

After a moment, the phone finally beeped with a notification.

It was a reply from Esther.

Esther: Hi Anika! Sure, I'd love to!

Anika smiled happily and turned to Leon.

"She'll come," She exclaimed softly.

Leon also smiled and couldn't help kissing her cheeks.

"Of course, she will," His baby was very likable, how could anyone refuse?

Esther was sitting by her desk when she received Anika's message. She was finishing something and did that first before she checked her phone.

Seeing the other's invitation, she agreed without hesitation. She slumped in her seat and tapped her finger on her phone.

Remembering her new expensive friend, she was in a meaningful thought. Even with their short time of getting to know each other, Esther knew the other was very innocent, even a bit naïve.

She had thought about the other's identity previously, but seeing her prominent husband earlier, it seemed her previous thoughts were not all that.

It made her even more curious about the latter.

But Anika seemed very kind, not like the rich people she knew.

Her thoughts were turning until she smiled meaningfully.

She hummed and stood from her seat. She slumped into her bed and got ready to sleep.

Esther was looking forward to what awaited her tomorrow.
