"Who are you?" A young but haughty voice asked.
Anika turned in that direction and saw a girl wearing a pink ruffled cocktail dress. She had milky skin, jet-black hair, and her cute face was a contrast to her snobbish expression.
"I know everyone assigned to this table. This is my first time seeing you," She squinted her eyes as she studied Anika.
Anika blinked and answered hurriedly.
"I'm Anika,"
The girl tilted her head and raised a brow. Anika? She thought for a while and remembered something. Anika seemed to be the name of the newlywed wife of the Albrecht family.
"You're Mrs. Albrecht?" She asked again.
Anika nodded, looking vigilantly at the other.
The girl hummed and sat in her seat, two seats away from Anika. At the moment, only the two of them were at the table.
She turned to Anika, still a bit haughty.
"I'm Seraphina. My cousin is friends with your husband. I didn't go to your wedding because-" Seraphina was stumped for a while.
Why didn't she go again? Oh, right, it seems..
She was feeling lazy that day.
She glanced a bit hesitatingly at Anika, but remembered, why should she be worried? Hmp.
"Doesn't matter," She then said dismissingly.
Anika could only blink her eyes in confusion. But seeing the other's snobbish expression, she didn't speak any further.
It's just that... from time to time, she could feel the glance of the young girl at her. And when she would turn to her and smile, the other would look away with a snob.
Anika was helpless at this. She looked at the girl. She seemed a bit younger than herself. Her pink fluffy dress looked cute on her, only that, the girl was a bit grumpy.
While for Seraphina, she thought indignantly. She had a bit of a princess disease, but also, she greatly loved beauty. Be it things or people.
And this woman, was the most beautiful person she had ever seen. So, she couldn't help but look a bit more.
The two sat in silence until suddenly, a man approached their table.
"Hi, beautiful lady. Care for a drink?" The man greeted and offered Anika a glass of wine.
He looked a bit tipsy, and the eyes looking at Anika were wrong.
"Ah, no, thank you.." Anika waved her hand.
However, the man still insisted and pushed the glass to her hand.
"Common just one sip. Lady's shouldn't be so stiff," The man persuaded.
Anika held the glass in her hand and was thinking of how to reject the offer. She was about to call for the guards around when she heard the sound of a chair dragging harshly on the floor beside her.
"Hey!" Seraphina stood up and folded her arms in front of her chest, giving a fierce look at the man.
"Do you know who you are hitting on?" She asked arrogantly.
When the man saw that it was the little tyrant of the Sirodov family, he felt a crisis. This woman was hard to deal with.
Seraphina raised a brow at the man.
"That is Mrs. Albrecht. Do you dare offend her?" She threatened.
When the man heard this, he suddenly sobered up. He looked at Anika in surprise. It turned out to be the Madame of the Albrecht.
