Chapter 42 - Retaliate

"Here's your bill, ladies," A waiter approached a group of woman's table and handed them their bill.

Esther turned to him and motioned to Anika.

"Give it to our Madame, please," Esther said in a playful tone.

Anika, who was only playing with her coffee, looked up. Her coffee was bitter, and she didn't quite like it.

And hearing Esther's words, she dazedly accepted the bill from the waiter and saw him waiting beside her.

She became flustered and clumsily took her phone out. She didn't know she was the one going to pay, and this was the first time she had paid by herself.

Leon taught her to pay bills by scanning her account on her phone, in case of emergency. Luckily, Anika remembered it and held her phone out to the waiter.

The waiter did not delay and scanned her account smoothly.

"Thank you for your payment," The waiter bowed and left.

"Wow, thanks for treating us, Anika!" Elise said cheerfully, giving a secret glance at Esther and Dane.

The other women smirked and also turned to Anika to say their thanks.

Anika felt that her anxiety just now was comforted by their nice words and smiley faces. She smiled softly at them.

"You're welcome,"

"Well, anyway. We'll take you back now. It was nice having this get-together, right?" Esther slapped the table lightly as she announced.

Her friends cheered and agreed.

Not long, they were already seated in the car heading back to the residence.

They arrived shortly, and they just dropped Anika by the entrance of the exclusive residence.

"We'll just drop you here cause we still need to head off somewhere. Bye Anika!" Esther waved at Anika and bid farewell when the other got off the car.

Anika turned to them and waved softly, saying her goodbyes. She turned around and walked inside without any scruples.

"Are you sure we'll just gonna drop her off like that?" Dane asked hesitantly.

Esther rolled her eyes.

"Yeah, this is better. In case we bump into her husband. That man is fierce!" Esther grumbled as she fixed her seatbelt.

"Really? Is it an old guy with large bucks?" Elise asked funnily.

Esther froze for a while, remembering the prestige and exquisiteness of that important person. She was sour again in her heart.

Really lucky, not only having loads of cash, still having a hot and rich husband!

"Yeah, he's old!" Esther responded indignantly.

"So you are not the one who has a sugar daddy, but that woman. And you can still leech her off!" Elise teased and chuckled.

Esther didn't reject the idea either, just hummed.

She can't even face the truth that Anika was one lucky lady, therefore slandering her in front of her friends. Anyway, these girls wouldn't have a chance to meet that man.

"You two shouldn't always show yourself to Anika. And don't make this get-together a habit. Although she's stupid, she might sense something," Esther said nonchalantly.

"Tsk. You bitch. You just want to solo all the blessings from that woman!" Dane cursed.

"Shut up, and just drive!" Esther retorted and knocked on the head of the car.
