"Anika!"

Anika suddenly heard an urgent and deep voice calling her name. She turned around and saw Leon hurriedly approaching her.

"Le-" Before she could call out, she was suddenly wrapped in a tight and strong embrace.

Leon tightly gathered the woman in his arms as he shut his eyes in relief. Feeling her soft and warm body on his made his frantic heart finally at ease.

"You don't ever leave out of my sight again.." He whispered lowly.

Anika heard his small whisper and couldn't help but ask softly.

"Pardon?"

Leon only let go of her and faced her properly. He cupped her face and checked her body.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?"

Anika shook her head. Leon sighed and held her hand.

"What happened? How did got separated from us?" Leon asked with furrowed brows.

Anika saw his solemn expression and couldn't help but be sad, thinking he was angry.

"I'm sorry.." All she could say as she lowered her head.

Leon saw this and sighed once again. He softened his eyes and raised her chin.

"Hey, I'm not angry at you. I just want you to know it was dangerous, okay?" He said in a gentle tone.

Anika looked up and saw his gentle and kind countenance returned, and she immediately felt relieved.

Leon saw his little woman nod her head cleverly. He knew she was still not aware of the world as much, and luckily, she didn't encounter anything bad today.

He turned his eyes to the children who surrounded Anika earlier. The once lively children were now cowering a few steps farther when they saw the man arrive. His imposing and strong aura can't help but make them conscious.

It was only this time that Anika also remembered the children. She turned to them too.

"So, what is happening here?" Leon asked lightly as he surveyed the place. The place was clearly dilapidated, and children only slept on cardboards and sacks.

Anika looked down at her purse and looked back at Leon.

"They were so pitiful. I, I gave them money. These were put by Nanny in my bag." Anika honestly reported and spread her hands with the money.

Leon looked at her little hands. He knew she didn't know much about money as well, or even the situation with the children.

He patted the hand that held her purse.

"Don't give them money anymore. Let's buy them food instead,"

He then took his phone and dialed his assistant. He first told them their location to drive here and then told him to buy warm food for the children.

After giving his instructions, he dropped the call and looked back at the children. Even if people want to, it is not the best idea to give street children money. They might just be ganged up by delinquents, or it might just be some modus of syndicates, sending children to ask for alms and taking all of the money after.

It was best to buy them food right now so that they could fill their stomachs properly.

Not long, the car arrived. The assistant came down with his guards, bringing warm and light food. It was better to give them these as it was not good to fill an empty stomach casually.

The children's eyes brightened. Leon signaled his men to give them the food. They watch the children eat for a while before Leon tells Anika they should go.
