Chapter 22 - A treat

At lunchtime, Leon came back as promised.

"Let's go out and Daddy would bring you to some good food first, okay?" Leon said to his girls as he dropped kisses on both of them.

"Okay daddy~" Little Adelaide obediently and politely responded to him, while Anika smiled and only nodded.

Leon picked up his daughter and took Anika's hand and went out of the mansion.

They entered the car and drove to a well-known mall.

Anika and her little daughter rode a car again and they can't help but feel novel. The little child was now awake and was looking out the window with Anika.

They looked at the passing people, cars, and buildings in fascination, as Leon only smiled warmly looking at them.

When they arrived at the mall, they entered an exclusive entrance, so it could be said that Leon was an important personage of this mall.

Leon was holding Anika's hand while Anika holds her little daughter as they entered the luxurious mall.

Waiting for them was a man in a suit who was smiling respectfully at them.

"Mr. Albrecht, it is an honor for us to have your presence here!" The man welcomed them with a cheerful voice.

"Pleasures mine. We'll have lunch first then we'll go to our appointment with Mrs. Davids." Leon spoke to the man as he shook his hand.

"Certainly! We will make sure to cater to you with our utmost service," The man gladly shook Leon's hand. He then realized the two people together with Leon.

"This is.." His words trailed as he looked at the two.

Leon turned to Anika and his daughter. He put his hand on the small of her back.

"This is the vice president of this mall, Mr. Smith," He told her then turned to Mr. Smith.

"My fiancé and daughter," He said lightly as he introduced them.

"!!!" Mr. Smith was stunned and speechless for a moment as he looked at Anika and Adelaide in surprise.

Who would have known that the most sought bachelor of the business industry was actually engaged, and he already has a child?

Anika looked at the man who seemed to be on the verge of a heart attack. He then saw how his expression shifted just as fast and held his hand out to her.

"Nice to finally meet the future Mrs. Albrecht!" He said now also having a flattering tone toward Anika.

Anika looked at his outstretched hand and looked at Leon. Seeing him nod, she took his hand and shook softly, copying what they did just now.

Mr. Smith eagerly shook her hand and let go. He wanted to ask so many questions, as to how this woman suddenly sprouted out of nowhere. But looking at Mr. Albrecht's gentle smile yet cold eyes, he swallowed his thoughts. Well, let's just look at the tabloids soon, surely there would be news. Right now, he had a more important matter to open up to the prestigious man.

"Well, Mr. Albrecht, I want to introduce you to someone just real quick. For the project this September," He said hinting to him about the business transaction they were currently in talks about.

Leon heard this and turned to the businessmen approaching, just a few feet away from them. He saw it was a rare coincidence and it wouldn't be much to just pass each other's business cards. So he turned to Anika to whisper.

"I'll be back.."

Anika nodded at him obediently.

"I'll have the manager accompany them, Mr. Albrecht, don't worry," Mr. Smith said attentively.

Leon nodded at him and left them to the manager. Anyway, his guards were supervising around, no one would there act against them.

He then walked to the businessmen and shook hands with them, talking business but still glancing back at his girls from time to time.

"Ma'am, this way," The manager, a bit calmer and composed than the overly flattering vice president, led Anika and her daughter to the restaurant where Leon had already booked a reservation, so they can wait comfortably.

While they were approaching, a server passed by holding a tray.

"Oh, Madame, how about you try some of this," The manager stopped the server who was holding a tray, with a single exquisite finger food placed in the center.

"This is a sample of our newly proposed creamy canapé. Would you like to try one?" The manager motioned to the small food on the tray. Probably the kitchen had instructed to give a sample to Mr. Albrecht knowing he was around, but the wise manager thinks it wouldn't be bad to offer it to his fiancé.

Anika looked at the beautiful tiny serving on the tray. It was something she hadn't seen before, but it looked delectable and appetizing. It was prepared in an exquisite plating, and she thought how a small thing could be presented so beautifully. But it looked delicious.

Anika turned to her daughter and saw her eyes already shining. She then looked at Leon and was a bit surprised to see him looking over at them too.

She saw him nod his head as if acquiescing for her to take the treat. Anika looked back to the server and saw him smiling amicably at her. She also smiled lightly and carefully took the small treat.

Anika then turned to her daughter and squatted beside her to level with her. She then gave sent the treat to her daughter's lips.

There was only one finger food in the tray, but never mind, she would give it to her daughter. Seeing her little sweetheart enjoy it would make her even happier. Her daughter should receive good things firsts, and she would give all to her if she can.

Adelaide looked eagerly at the delicious treat before her but did not forget to look at her mother's face. Seeing her with a smile and encouraging nod, she opened her lips to eat the canapé.

Her eyes immediately brightened.

"Yummy, mommy~" The little girl said coquettishly at Anika.

Leon was watching his girls closely while discussing with the businessmen. Seeing Anika take the finger food but squatting to deliver it to their daughter, something stirred in his heart.

Watching their small frames, he can't help but imagine their days back in the tower, where they can only be given good treats seldomly, but Anika would have given them all to their daughter.

His sweetheart was so good.

"Everything is all good. Gentlemen, I'll just send my secretary for the following details and probably an appropriate time and place to meet," Leon said with finality to the men beside him.

The businessmen saw he still seemed to have a previous appointment and restrain him any longer. They exchanged business cards and bid their goodbyes.

Leon immediately went to Anika and their daughter. In time to see his little Adelaide finishing the treat and Anika wiping the corners of her mouth.

"Is it good?" His gentle voice asked them.

"Yes, Daddy!" Adelaide said cheerfully.

Leon smiled at his daughter and looked at Anika. He held her hand and turned to the manager.

"We would have a full order of those on our table. And also, give us your bestseller desserts," Leon told the manager.

He then led Anika and Adelaide to the restaurant.

"We will have many of those for lunch okay? And anything you want," He whispered softly to Anika.

His baby was still young to have her own baby too, and his heart clenched to imagine her give up all the scarce good things they have just to take care and make their daughter happy on her own.

They deserve everything, and she deserves everything.

And Leon swore to give them the world.
