Anika turned over on her side as she woke up. After dinner earlier, the couple once again made love, surrounded by candle lights and flower petals specifically prepared for their special night.
Waking up after their intense love, she turned on her side as Leon's strong arm still wrapped around her waist, still having steady breathing sprinkling on her neck.
She couldn't go back to sleep anymore, so she looked at the object on the bedside table.
It was bought for her by Leon, and it was the object she finds really novel. A small rectangular thing that lights up. Leon said it was called a smartphone. She had seen him use it multiple times and saw people hold them on the streets back at the mall. Even when walking, she could see them looking down at this small thing. It made her curious even more.
Slowly, she stretched out her arm to take the object and placed it on the bed on her side, studying it carefully. She placed a finger on the screen, and it suddenly lit up. She looked over curiously, her head still laying on the pillow as she cautiously tapped on the screen.
She took back her small finger and rubbed it on her lips as she scrutinized, then tapping back at the bright screen lightly.
Suddenly, she felt the man behind her move, hot breath approaching, and a kiss fell on her cheek.
"Want me to teach you?" His hoarse voice sounded, a bed voice that sounds alluring to the ear.
The moment she woke up, he already woke up as well. He observed her fascinated look at the phone he gave her and enjoyed watching her discover her new gadget. But after a while, he couldn't bare her distressing look.
His little wife turned in his arm to look at him, her bright big eyes stared at him quite eagerly.
Leon let out a short chuckle as he pecked her lips before sitting up and scooping her body along with him. He leaned his back on the head of the bed and placed Anika on his lap.
"Before anything else, I want you to remember not to use the phone while lying down, okay? It's bad for your eyes,"
Anika heard this and nodded her head obediently, looking up at him.
Leon smiled and caressed her soft hair.
Such a good girl.
He leaned to kiss her cheeks before wrapping his arms around her again, operating the phone in front of them.
"You can use this to communicate with me so that wherever we are, we can talk to each other," He explained the first essential reason why people should have phones.
Anika leaned back to Leon's sturdy body as she looked intently at the screen. She saw him a click a few times on the phone's screen until it flashed Leon's contact, which was saved as "husband'.
Suddenly, another phone rang on the bedside table. It was Leon's.
Leon took his phone and answered the call, putting it to his ear and spoke deeply.
"Hello," His deep magnetic voice sounded through the other phone's speaker that was placed on Anika's ear.
Her eyes brightened with marvel as she heard his voice from the small device. She looked back eagerly at Leon.
Leon smiled at her excited look and pinched her soft cheeks.
"Like this, we can talk even if we are far away from each other," He explained smoothly, still talking on the phone.
"Really?" Anika asked, feeling amazed.
"That's right. We'll try it in a few days. For now, let's learn this, okay?" Leon gently coaxed.
So, the man taught his little wife how to call his number until she could do it herself.
"Good job," Leon praised her when she finally got the hang of it, as he caressed her smart little head.
Anika heard his praise and smiled softly with her starry eyes.
Later through the night, Leon continued teaching Anika for the fun things one can do with a phone. He downloaded a few game apps that he knew of for her to play with.
He watched her happily yet slowly play with her phone, and she never became impatient no matter how much she lost.
It was a feast for his eyes watching his wife enjoy, so he decided he should take note of more fun apps to introduce her.
With that. The couple enjoyed the rest of the night, cuddling together and playing with smartphones.
........................................................................
The next day, Leon introduced his little family to television and movies.
"Daddy has prepared fun things for today," Leon announced while they were eating their breakfast.
"Fun?" Adelaide repeated the word innocently. Even Anika turned to look at him with curiosity in her eyes.
Leon only smiled, and after breakfast, he took them to watch movies.
Instead of using the television in the living room, they went to the theatre room in the mansion, which was hardly used before. Now, it was for his girls to enjoy.
"Wow~" Adelaide let out a voice of amazement.
Anika also looked at the place with great interest. The room was big and dimly lit. A large black screen was pasted on the wall. Several soft couches were placed in front of the screen. It looked the same as a cinema, only a smaller one.
Leon settled the three of them on a family couch.
He put up some nice Disney movies that even little Adelaide could enjoy. But looking at two pairs of enthralled eyes, he discovered his wife enjoyed such movies just as much.
He realized once again how Anika was denied of her childhood. This made Leon became even more inspired to fill all those gaps.
"Princess! Prince!~" Little Adie happily pointed at the screen. She sat in between Anika and Leon's lap. The family of three closely snuggled together.
Leon smiled as he patted her little head.
Anika was also amazed by the large screen in front of her. It was much larger than the television in the living room. The movie that was being played was about stories of princes and princesses.
She didn't imagine that the characters she could only see in the picture book would come alive, move in front of her, and even hear their voices. She was greatly fascinated.
At her age, she still greatly enjoyed these children's movies. But the woman didn't know nor found anything wrong with that, as this was her first exposure to movies.
Let's just say that the movies she was bound to see in the future would bewilder her even more.
