Chapter 39 - Getting close

"Welcome, Esther!" Anika happily welcomed her friend into their home.

Esther smiled and came in, looking around at the large and exquisite mansion.

It was different from the ostentatious mansions of other rich families. It can be seen that the master of the home was minimalistic, but every corner and part of the home was carefully thought of.

"Hello! Thank you for having me here!" Esther greeted.

"Are your family here?" She asked as she looked around the place.

"It's just me, Nanny Rose, and Steward Ben. Leon is at the office, and Adie is at school," Anika responded as she led Esther to the sofa.

"Please sit down. Nanny has prepared delicious food for you," Anika enthusiastically invited.

And as if on cue, Nanny Rose arrived with a tray in her hand.

"The guest is finally here!" She said in a cheerful voice.

"You need to know Anika has been excited since she woke up," She added with a chuckle.

Anika blushed and smiled embarrassedly.

Esther heard this and smiled.

"I was excited too, thanks for this, Nanny Rose," Esther happily responded.

"Oh, it's nothing. So, I'll leave you two to enjoy and chat," Nanny Rose said after she placed the tray on the center table.

The two ate while chatting. Esther told Anika about her school and university life, and Anika listened with relish.

She was interested in school, and Esther told her many things about them. They ate and chatted slowly.

Until they finished eating, Anika offered to go to a different part of the mansion.

"Would you like to look at my closet?" Anika asked softly.

She had asked Nanny Rose for a long time what fun things can they girls do, and Nanny told her that young girls like to look at bags and clothes. She has lots in her closet, so she offered to take Esther there.

Esther's eyes glinted, but she tried to calm herself. She, too, was just a girl, and she loved seeing pretty things. She had window-shopped quite a few times at the mall, only looking but not buying. And she was thinking, what does a rich woman's closet look like?

She wanted to see it too.

Esther smiled happily at Anika.

"Sure!"

Anika led Esther to her closet, which was separated from their room. She knows that Leon doesn't like other people entering their room. Even cleaners can't easily enter their private space.

Anika kind of understood, too, and even she was not comfortable of others entering their space. So, when she asked Leon, she offered the other closet separated from their room, and he readily agreed.

Leon bought so many clothes and bags for Anika that they didn't fit in just one closet. So he had another specifically made.

They entered the door, and Esther felt they had walked into a paradise. There were glitters, diamonds, and leather everywhere.

"Wow!" Esther exclaimed in a prolonged tone.

Anika smiled in relief when she saw Esther seemed to like it.

"Omg, you have these? I think they aren't even out yet!" Esther was blinded by all the luxury goods, some even limited editions and others customized.
