On Pluto's command, hundreds more Team Plasma Grunts emerged from the shadows to replace those who were defeated. More of Galar's strongest Trainers joined their opponents. They were still outnumbered. Even if they could defeat them all, they were trapped there until they did. There was no telling what Pluto would do now. He clearly had no intention of sealing the Ultra Wormhole. The voices of the suffering Pokémon were so deafening to him that no particular one was discernible. It was a din that he could tune out. Zekrom took off before Lien or Caroline could react.

'Oh, bollocks...'

The Ghetsis, N and Hilbert of the alternate universe were still tied up and gagged. Hilbert was too injured to escape. N, however, bit through his gag and freed his wrists.

'Don't chase him... Reshiram will come.'

'Reshiram!' Caroline exclaimed, 'Of course! There is a hero of truth here! Neptune! We need to get Neptune and Reshiram out of there! I wonder if those Grunts would still listen to me...'

Neptune and Reshiram couldn't escape. Reshiram was already unconscious. Neptune was down to his last Pokémon, Samurott, who was burned and confused. Caroline's heart sank. Of course N thought Reshiram would come. He had no idea where he was and how there could be another Reshiram there.

'Our N's Zekrom...?' Khalid feebly suggested, 'They might be more experienced than this one...?'

Jahzeel stirred. Caroline promptly whacked him with the brick again. He flopped back down.

'It's no good. We'll have to chase him. Even if we get killed doing it... death will make him see sense... Corviknight!'

The energy pouring from the Ultra Wormhole spread to every corner of Galar. Trainers and police officers had to leave Hammerlocke. There was no-one to protect the rest of the region from the rampaging Dynamax Pokémon. Neon blue thunder crashed across the sky. If Pluto and Zekrom were trying to terrify everyone into submission, they were doing a good job.

'N, can you speak to Zekrom?' Khalid asked, 'It might listen to you...'

'It won't... I have no desire to pursue an ideal world.'

It was bizarre to hear N say that. The N that Khalid knew fervently believed in ideals over truth.

Something flashed in the distance. The horizon glowed orange. A high-pitched howl boomed. Flames forced Zekrom back until it landed face-down on the tower summit. Pluto was hurled off its back. The entire summit glowed orange as the resplendent shadow of another dragon fell over it. Zorua scampered off Reshiram's back.

This wasn't Neptune's Reshiram. It was the one that, in his own world, N was about to revive from the Light Stone; the stone that Zorua chased while Pluto forgot about it. Hilbert glanced at N.

'You were right!'

'For once... but who is the hero...?'

Pluto recognised Heather's silhouette right away. Zorua scowled beside her.

'So... you were recognised by Reshiram...'

'I promised not to get involved unless you put people and Pokémon... or the world itself... at risk... and I don't break promises. I don't lie. And I could hardly refuse Zorua when he brought me the Light Stone.'

Pluto stumbled to his feet. When he met Heather, he envisioned her alongside Reshiram. He was so convinced that she lied to him that any visions left his mind.

'But the truth cannot stop me! I will create my ideal world! Heather! I shall sweep you before me!'
