Chapter 21:

Lucy shuffled through the crowd, holding on to Levy.

Her short, cute friend led the way trying to keep up with the fast paced Erza.

Mirajane and Kinana came last not at all bothered by all the fuss and noise.

"We shall go see Juvia first!" Erza said stopping suddenly.

Levy and Lucy bumped into her before stumbling back, "Gotcha."

Erza made way through the crowd and the two friends followed immediately.

Kinana and Mirajane made their way to the bleachers to save seats for the others.

Lucy looked through the people who were sitting inside the huge, closed poolroom. Almost all of them were students with the exemptions of teachers who were walking down to the pool or seated with their students.

This competition seemed like a really big deal with so many schools gathered.

Lucy noticed a few of the school's flags.

The Lamia Scale High flag was hoisted pretty high and below it sat a number of students. A certain girl caught Lucy's attention with her hot pink, layered hair and designer ensemble.

She tossed back her hair before shifting forward in her seat with an almost forlorn expression.

Looked, to Lucy, like she was waiting for someone.

Another flag that caught her attention was the one from Blue Pegasus High.

Lucy almost stopped walking. That was the school rumored to have a lot of handsome, male students. If she'd heard right, there were a few students who fawned over women all the time, giving them all their attention, and just basically being great dates.

Maybe she'd see one of them today...

Levy pulled at her hand and Lucy hurried to keep pace with her best friend.

They reached the pool just in time to see a white haired, rather distinguished looking boy bend slightly and get down on his knees in front of Juvia who was in the pool.

Something about the boy was regal and relaxed yet with an air of almost elegance. He was an absolute gentleman and Lucy hadn't even met him yet.

Lucy and Levy were still walking down the side of the pool toward Juvia and the other boy when they saw Gajeel and Gray approach the pair.

Gray and the new boy seemed to consider each other for a moment before Lyon got to his feet and extended a hand.

Gajeel just looked bored.

Erza and the other two finally reached the group.

Gajeel was the first to notice them.

"Hiya, Shrimp. Ye're here!"

Levy looked up at the tall black haired boy, "Yes, Gajeel. Juvia's my friend."

"Mine too," Gajeel said with an irritated huff of air, "But I wasn' countin' on a reunion here."

Lucy and Levy looked over at Gray and the other boy who were talking to Erza now.

"Hello there. My name is Erza and I'm from Fairy Tail High."

"The name is Lyon and it's a pleasure to meet you." The other boy said in a calm voice.

Lucy took a closer look at Lyon. He was a good looking boy and was obviously from Lamia Scale. He had that T-Shirt on.

Gray and Lyon seemed to know each other. Maybe Juvia knew Lyon too.

Lucy looked over at Juvia to notice that the blue haired, beautiful swimmer seemed to have all her attention on her crush.

"Gajeel," Gajeel said gruffly and shook Lyon's hand.

Lucy and Levy introduced themselves too and earned a handshake each from the well mannered boy.

"Who would have thought that I'd see you here, Gray." Lyon said.

"I am from Fairy Tail High, Lyon." Gray responded, "And we win whereever we go."

"Isn't the case between you and me." The other boy responded with a small smirk.

"Please." Gray rolled his eyes, "I'm not the same little kid I was when I was younger. I'm much smarter now."

"Yes?" Lyon asked, seeming amused, "You are yet to prove it, Gray. I haven't come to see you so excuse me, yes?"

Lucy and Levy flinched at the amount of distaste in his voice.

Gray and Lyon seemed like long term rivals of some kind.

Lyon turned back to the pool and bent down to see Juvia.

He took her hand to his lips and placed a small kiss, "The best of my wishes, my lady."

Juvia blinked.

Lucy's head whipped around to see Gray's face.

He watched calmly, with no emotion on his face.

Lucy whipped her head back around to watch Lyon rise gracefully back to his feet.

He bid a polite goodbye to the Fairy Tail students before leaving.

The group stared at each other, unsure of how to respond.

Gray broke the silence between them with a laugh, "Well, well, Juvia. Looks like Lyon has something going on for you."

Lucy and Levy cringed before slowly turning to Juvia.

She blinked and then looked up to Gray's face with a rather sorrowful expression.

Erza facepalmed and Levy giggled, earning a nudge from Lucy.

"A'right, anyway," Gajeel finally made his presence," We came to wish you luck, Juvia. I hope you win or somethin'"

Juvia nodded, coming out of shock.

She smiled at Gajeel, "Thanks, Gajeel."

The boys turned around and began heading back to the bleachers.

"Make us proud, Juvia!" Gray shouted as he walked away.

Lucy, Levy and Erza turned to look at Juvia already knowing how she'd react.

"Oh my goodness!" Juvia gushed.

She seemed to have forgotten about poor Lyon already.

Lucy sighed as Levy rolled her eyes.

Lyon was not going to like Gray for another reason.
