Chapter 36:

Laxus stood behind a shouting Natsu.

"No, I didn't Eric!"

Eric gave the pink head a smile that would get him riled up for sure.

Laxus watched silently.

Jellal had a deadly smile on his face.

The students were still talking among themselves.

Laxus heard Levy freaking out about her power.

"Whatcha got, Shrimp?" Gajeel asked her.

"Watch," She told him and wrote a quick few letters in the air.

The next moment, the word fire flew out of the air but the letters were all ablaze.

Gajeel's jaw dropped, "Oh, man. You really got it goin' on, shorty."

She blushed.

Natsu was busy burning the place down to notice the girls showing off their powers.

Gajeel's hand extended into a metal rod to hit Natsu across the face.

Natsu was not happy about it, "Metalhead, you asked fer it!"

"Bring it on, Salamander!"

Just as Natsu began running over to the metal pierced boy, Gray bent down to touch the floor and immediately a sheet of ice spread out under Natsu's feet.

He went spiralling down to a shouting Gajeel and the two idiots crashed into the stage.

Gray and Jellal high-fived.

Eric was staring at Kinana with intense concentration.

Laxus knew what was going on.

Eric's ears had sharpened to a whole new level and now, he was mind reading.

Laxus knocked him across the head, "Stop that."

The Cobra rubbed his head, "But she's mine. It's alright."

"She's not yours, till she says so. So, get that through your thick skull." Laxus snapped at him.

Eric nodded and turned away.

Lucy was talking to Kinana with an uncertain expression.

"'Sup, Lucy?" Gray shouted over.

Juvia, Lucy and Kinana walked over to where Laxus stood with Gray, Eric and Jellal.

"I'm not sure what my powers are, Gray." Lucy told him.

"You do have abilities," Jellal said as he sensed the power that was inside her.

"I know..." She sighed.

"Hey, Luce!" Natsu ran over, "Whatcha got?"

"I don't know, Natsu..."

Laxus noticed the five golden keys that hung from her belt but didn't alert her.

The keys moved and Lucy suddenly realized that they were there.

"Hey!" She took them in her hands, "Check this out!!"

Natsu and Gray looked closer at them.

"You got keys?"

Lucy bit her lip.

"Do you know what to do, Lucy?" Jellal asked her.

"Yes." Eric answered for her.
