The Dates End

A/N: Yo!

I'm back and this is the 42nd chapter!! 

Yay!!

So unbelievable and I seriously don't see this book ending anytime soon so just give me a shout if I start getting boring, please?

Ahem,

Chapter 42:

"Where, Natsu?"

"Over there, Luce!!"

Lucy stretched her neck, as she stood on her toes to see.

Natsu and her had left the amusement park a while ago.

Gray was nowhere to be found, so the two friends had decided to get themselves a snack.

"Here."

Natsu bent to pick her up and place her on one of his shoulders.

Strong, Lucy thought to herself as she sat on the pink headed boy's shoulder.

"I see it!" She exclaimed, keeping her blond hair in place as the wind whipped at her.

She could see quite a distance from on top of Natsu's shoulder.

She placed her hand on his head.

Was Natsu really that tall?

"Hey, Luce?"

"Yeah, Natsu?"

"Can I put you down now?"

"Oh, sure."

Natsu placed her down gently, on her feet.

The blond girl blushed but her friend didn't seem to  notice.

"Let's go, Luce. Hot dogs!!"

Lucy smiled, "Okay, Natsu."

As she raced after him, Lucy thought about their relationship.

Natsu had become her bestfriend in such a short period of time. They'd grown incredibly close and could talk about almost anything.

Natsu and Lucy fought all the time but it was always good-spirited and in a light-hearted, friendly way.

He'd become such an important and lovely part of her life that her stomach twisted.

The past few days, Lucy had noticed that she loved being with him more than with anyone else.

Her life without Natsu seemed almost impossible.

Even Levy wasn't on the same level as Natsu was with her.

Lucy bit her lip as the two reached the hot dog stand and Natsu started ordering.

After getting their food, the two young students sat on a nearby bench while Lucy watched Natsu gobble down his hot dog.

He looked over at her for a moment with mustard all around his mouth, "Ye're not eatin', Luce."

She smiled, "Natsu, don't you know how to eat?"

"I do too."

She reached over and used her hand to slowly remove some of the mustard on his face.

Natsu froze.

His eyes roamed her face till they took to staring into her dark brown eyes.

Lucy swallowed but didn't stop till she finished cleaning his face.
