Juvia's competition!

Chapter 24:

Lucy sat up straight in her seat.

It was beginning!

She stretched in her seat to glance at the pool.

The five competitors seemed ready.

Juvia's eyes blazed with determination and Lucy smiled.

Show 'em, Juvia She thought.

Levy's fingers crossed next to her.

Lucy glanced at her best friend.

Levy had been Juvia's friend for a very long time and it was extremely cute to see Levy so anxious.

Kinana's face was pulled into an expression of absolute concentration as she watched the pool.

Lucy looked over at the others.

Erza sat back with a smile of absolute confidence.

Mirajane leaned forward in her seat to get a better view.

Natsu and Gray were bickering about getting the long flavour of chips.

Gajeel occasionally growled at them to shut up.

Laxus, Jellal and Eric watched the pool with calm expressions.

Lucy turned her attention back to the pool to see attendants come to the aid of the competitors.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, HERE WE GO! Let's get ready for the 100m Butterfly Swim."

Lucy's excitement swelled at the announcer's voice.

The competition began with a roar from the audience.

Lucy's eyes widened at how quickly Juvia shot into the water.

The competitors got through the first few seconds into the water. When they came up for air to continue the swim, the crowd cheered.

The first lap got over fast and the swimmers took a smooth turn in the water and it was clear to everyone watching that Juvia was taking it home.

She cut through the water like a fish, smoothly lifting her head up for air.

Lucy found herself on her feet when it was just a stiff competition between Juvia and the Lamia Scale High boy.

Natsu and Gray hollered Juvia's name as she kept going.

The audience was still loud with many students standing on their seats and shouting.

The last few seconds, Juvia broke thruough, and emerged from the water at her starting point with a gasp for air.

Levy and Lucy screamed with a hundred others before pulling each other close for a hug.

Lucy laughed with joy while still holding onto Levy.

She noticed Erza on her feet with Mirajane and Kinana. The red head applauded with the same confident smile she'd given in the beginning.

Gajeel was busy giving Natsu and Gray a bone crushing hug which the other two responded to by pushing the metal pierced boy away.

Jellal and Eric talked to each other quietly as they clapped.
