Chapter 74:

"Laxus."

He walked on, ignoring the sweet voice that called out to him.

"Laxus, please wait!"

Natsu jerked up in bed.

Every part of him tingled and he felt pleasantly warm all over.

He looked over to see Lucy fast asleep.

That explained it.

"Natsu?" Happy rubbed his eyes, curled up near the end of Lucy's large bed.

"Hey, little buddy," Natsu's face morphed into a kind smile as he waited for his exceed to sit up.

"What's wrong?" His blue cat asked him, slowly looking around.

"Nothin's wrong, Happy," Natsu said, taking a long sniff of the space Lucy rented.

Her scent was all over the place.

The one room he wouldn't mind hanging out in.

The Dragon Slayer knew he probably liked the location thanks to the way it felt, smelt and looked exactly like Lucy.

He looked over at the beautiful blond girl and couldn't help the huge grin that spread across his face.

Natsu lived in the moment.

He rarely thought of the past and almost never planned for the future.

The thought that Lucy might leave him in the future or that things might be different between them later just never occured to the boy.

Mira ran after the hulking large, muscular man who strode away from her.

He turned into his grandfather's office and she waited a few minutes before entering herself.

Mira let her silky hair fall over one shoulder when she entered the room and looked around for the quick stepping Lightning Dragon Slayer.

He sat hunched over in her chair, his head face down on her desk.

Mira's heart tugged her when she saw the way he sat crumpled up.

Walking over, the beautiful girl hesitated for a few seconds before perching on top of her desk a little distance away from his blond head.

"Laxus?" She softly whispered, keeping her angelic voice low.

He didn't move but Mira could see the hair on his neck raise.

Where Romeo or Wendy would have been confused by Laxus' irritation or anger, Mirajane understood it perfectly.

She hadn't been there longer than anyone else but she knew exactly what was tearing him apart inside.

Memories of when he'd been looked down at.

A time when he'd been the cause of disappointment and an object of disgust to the only person he'd ever strived to please.

All of those moments were replaying in his head and Mira knew the fear of losing who you were then only too well.

A few seconds was all the S-Class mage had needed to determine that the Thunder Legion had not been responsible for the mess.

Someone or something else was behind the destruction that lay in the gym.

If Mira could see that, she knew that the master definitely would have.

The founder probably knew who it was.

Maybe the look Makarov had given his grandson was an expression of disdain to show his how appalled he was with the gym's condition.

When you were in a setting where you'd been judged before, you tended to lash out when you weren't at fault anymore.

Mirajane let her hand softly weigh down on his hair.

His body shuddered slightly but didn't react otherwise.

"Laxus... Please look up."

The man slowly raised his head to look up at her and the pain in his eyes tore at Mira's heart.

She'd never seen someone in so much anguish before.

Cupping the left half of his face with her hand, she bent over slightly to place a soft, lingering kiss on his cheek.

Laxus froze and didn't seem to be able to breathe.

The beautiful girl took that moment of his shock to shift to sitting on his lap.

A gasp from the doorway got both students turning to face the door swiftly, their eyes wide.

Wendy and Romeo stood at the door, their faces beet red.

"What is the hold up?" Carla stood with both hands on her hips, waiting for the two students she seemed to raise stand right at the Master's doorway, their jaws somewhere on the floor.

"Wendy?!" The exceed was getting impatient, "What's the matter, child? Come now!"

The two students slowly turned away from the door and began to walk past Carla, eyes glazed over and mouth still hanging open.

"Romeo? Wendy? Wha- , stop! What is wrong with the both of you?!"

A/N: Okay, the next ship of you guys requested was a tie between NaLu and Kinabra followed by Rowen and Lyredy.

So, after I cover these I'll give you a couple of chapters where I touch up on all the others (StingYu, RoKag(?), Lories, Bicksanna, ElfGreen and others) (Tell me if I miss some out.)

After that, we may have one more round of voting before I'll have to wrap up this book with a finale (a.k.a the Council Tests.)

I've come a really long way and next to God, I love and adore you guys!! You're just so special to me!!

Ten months of this book so I Love You!!

Also, There's another book which will be a sequel to this and I plan on calling it "Fairy Tail High Magic."

I don't know if you'll all read it but I feel like a couple of people I'm really close to here definitely will and that makes me feel so nice, thank you!!

The next book may be more Jerza or NaLu with ALL the main ships from here getting equal spotlight...
