Chapter 25:

Mirajane hugged herself.

Juvia had won!

Her heart swelled with pride.

What a wonderful feeling!

She turned to Kinana with a happy smile and the two girls hugged.

She released Kinana slowly.

It was time to go see Juvia and congratulate the girl.

Maybe they'd go out now.

"Your friend won."

Mirajane turned to Laxus at the sound of his voice.

"Yes. Isn't it wonderful?"

He studied her for a moment before smiling. "Yes."

Mirajane was about to respond when she heard a familiar voice call to her.

"Mira." She whirled around to see the master taking up little space near the aisle leading up the bleachers.

"Master." She greeted him in her sweet voice.

"Would you like to come with me?" He asked, "I'm just going to go congratulate our Juvia on her spectacular win."

"Of course, Master." Mirajane responded with a smile.

Makarov caught sight of his grandson and his expression changed to one of displeasure.

Mirajane shifted her head slowly upwards to gaze at Laxus whose jaw had clenched.

Laxus turned away from his grandfather as Makarov did from his grandson.

Mirajane looked back to the master, an uncertain look on her face.

"Hurry, Mira." Was all Makarov said as he made his way down the crowding path down to the pool.

Mirajane bit her lip and looked toward Laxus.

Even though they didn't know each other all that well, somehow she felt as though she knew Laxus well.

Laxus took a deep breath before looking down at her, "Go. Congratulate Juvia fer me."

Mirajane nodded. "Okay." She said, her voice getting softer.

She walked past her friends and down onto the aisle, not sure what exactly had happened.

"Let us go see Juvia!" Erza declared.

"Oh my goodness!! She won, she won, she won!" Levy was still jumping around.

Laxus took a small step back as Gajeel walked past him swiftly toward the girl.

"Hurry, Shrimp. Gotta go see Juvia."

"Gajeel?"

Natsu ran after the metal pierced boy, "Hurry! But we'll get there first."

"Not we, Salamander. Me." Gajeel smirked, quickening his pace.

"Oh yeah?" Natsu began to run.

Laxus noticed that Lucy laughed.

"Let's go, you guys!"

Erza turned to Laxus, "Would you like to join us?"
