Jimin's pov
I looked up at the brightened pink sky, watching the sun come up as I stood on the second floor balcony of Namjoon's large mansion. The breeze softly blew my orange hair back as I could hear the soft and loud chirps of the birds in the trees, it honestly was a soothing sound to my ears. Especially after last night's events, "Is she awake?" Was the first question I asked Hoseok, who stepped out onto the balcony and stood beside me. "No, she's still sleeping. Namjoon insisted on taking care of her wounds and asked if I could heal the civilians who were hurt in the line of fire, I'm feeling a little exhausted myself." He sighed, I kept my eyes on the sky ahead of us and took a deep breath. Hoseok had stuck to his word and he did heal a lot of the injured civilians, Taehyung opted to stay away from people and Jungkook tried to help take care of their wounds. And the seven of us did not come out of this battle completely unscathed, we all had wounds which Hoseok had treated. Though, Hoseok could not heal himself, Namjoon did his fair share and helped him heal. Of course, after the townspeople found out that Kook was a vampire, they heckled him out of the room. It always made me so angry to see that, Jungkook was nothing like the other vampires that were in these woods and roamed into towns. "I can't believe she beat that thing." Tae's voice sounded from behind us, "I told you not to underestimate her, Taehyung. She was clearly trained by someone." Yoongi said, he came out and took a seat in the chair beside me. I sighed, looking up at the birds that flew past us. "For a moment, I thought that golem would kill her... And I hate to admit it, but Elizabeth has grown on me. It would have been quite a shame had she passed away before she could complete her journey." Taehyung spoke up, Hoseok ignored Tae's last words and turned his attention away from him. "You're not the only one she's grown on. Both Yoongi and you were the same in how you treated her at first. And you both protected her when she needed it." Hoseok said, smiling at Yoongi who just groaned. "I only protected her because she's your charge and you would have felt hurt and betrayed if I hadn't. I was only doing it to keep you happy, Hoseok." Yoongi said, I chuckled and shook my head as I didn't believe him.
"Aw, come on, Yoongi. We all know you have a soft spot for Elizabeth." Jin said, walking past the group.
"No, I don't!! Get that thought out of your head!" Yoongi snapped.
"Mhm.. Yeah, keep telling yourself that!" Jin shouted. I chuckled, watching Yoongi mutter curse words under his breath. From his body language, I could tell that he really did care for Elizabeth, he just didn't want to come off as caring for her. Hoseok and I looked at one another, both of us seemingly amused by Yoongi's behavior. Yoongi sent us a glare, causing our laughter to quickly die down and it became quiet again. A breeze blew past us, my hair flying into my face as I heard the birds chirping loudly as they flew by. "We really need a vacation." Taehyung stated, breaking the silence. "Yeah, I agree with you on that, 100%." Yoongi ran his fingers through his hair, "I mean.. What is the deal with this fucking Warlock? He's so keen on killing her that he's brought down an entire town.." Taehyung snapped, he seemed awful riled up about this whole incident.
Could he possibly care about this town? This seemed so uncharacteristic for a Fallen Angel, then again, Taehyung didn't seem like he fit the mold. I don't know much about Taehyung, but I could tell that he did seem to care a lot about this town.
"Who knows why he does what he does? Not even Elizabeth fully understands herself why he decided to target her family. I can't imagine having my parents taken away from me at such a young age, harassed by the same Warlock who just won't leave me alone and then years later, he comes and takes away the only family I have left." I stated, looking down at the ground. "Elizabeth is strong for keeping in the urge to kill that Warlock for what he's done to her and her family. I admire her for that. I think in the long run, we are the lucky ones because we got to meet her." I lifted my head, looking at Hoseok and Yoongi. I could tell that both of them were feeling the same way I felt, Taehyung on the other hand, was harder to read.
"By the way, where is Namjoon? I haven't seen him in a while. Or Jungkook." I turned my head to Hoseok, "Last I saw Namjoon, he had headed back into the town to start fixing things up. I believe Jungkook stayed with Elizabeth, he didn't want to leave her side and since she's not awake, he's a bit worried about her being attacked again." Hoseok explained, leaning against the balcony railing.
"Hey, guys!!" Hoseok and I looked over the railing, spotting Namjoon who was waving his arms at us. Yoongi stood to his feet, walking over to my left side and looked down while Taehyung stood to Hoseok's right. "What is it, Joon?" Yoongi asked, "There's food ready for you guys in the dining hall! Jin has already fed the people that were healed. Has Elizabeth woken up yet?" Namjoon asked, "No, not yet. Although, you did heal her, I did some more healing to give her a little more energy. She should be awake soon." Hoseok said, Namjoon nodded and waved for us to come down. I knew that Jungkook and Elizabeth would be hungry, so I headed down to the dining hall with the others to fix them both plates of food. When we got in there, I was shocked to see the huge array of food that had been set out for us to eat. No doubt Namjoon did that as a way of thanking us for helping keep the town from being completely destroyed, "Thank god for Namjoon and his skills for cooking food." Taehyung said, taking a seat at the table.
"Namjoon can cook?" Yoongi quirked an eyebrow in disbelief, it seemed Yoongi didn't believe Taehyung's statement.
"Yeah, he learned from the resident chef over in town Square. Though, who knows if that guy is even still alive after that golem destroyed so many buildings." Taehyung shrugged, I rolled my eyes as I fixed myself a plate of food. I sat down next to Hoseok, while Yoongi piled his food on his plate. Yoongi took his seat across from me and took a large bite of food and immediately spit it out, making Hoseok grimace in disgust. "This shit tastes horrible!" He exclaimed, wiping his mouth with a napkin. "I thought you said that he could cook?!" Yoongi looked over at Taehyung, who chuckled as he looked up from his cup of juice. "Yes, I did say he can cook. But I never said that he can make it taste good." He smirked, Yoongi growled in anger and chucked a piece of bread at Taehyung who laughed and leaned to the side. The bread flew past Taehyung's face, hitting the wall behind him, bouncing off and hit the floor with a low thud. Hoseok chuckled at Yoongi who chucked another piece of bread, Hoseok catching it with ease.
"Here, I can fix this." With a wave of my hand, I changed the flavor of the food that sat on our plates and on the rest of the table. "How did you-" Yoongi questioned, "He's got Fairy magic." Jin said, as he came into the hall and took a seat on the other side of Hoseok and Yoongi. "Oh, that explains so much." Yoongi retorted, rolling his eyes at Jin.
"Where were you by the way?" Taehyung asked, his eyes leaving his plate. "Helping restore buildings and homes with Namjoon. Since there are magic users in the town, we were able to rebuild a few stores and homes." He took a bite of food, shoving it in his face. "What about Jungkook and Elizabeth? Are they going to eat?" Jin looked over his cup, his eyes meeting Hoseok's.
"Later. Elizabeth is still sleeping and Jungkook is being a little protective and watching over her. He was trying to help some people earlier and they didn't stand for it as they found out he is a vampire. So he decided to stay in the room with Elizabeth." Hoseok explained, "Man, humans can be really mean. Don't they realize that he was one of the eight that helped saved this damn town from total destruction?" Jin wiped his mouth, "That's the fucking thing with humans who aren't like Namjoon and Elizabeth, they are so prejudiced against those who aren't the same as them. Even when they have known you since you were a fucking child, the moment you become different from them is the moment they fucking decide to turn their back on you. Kick you out of your own home, kill your family out of fear and vengeance." Taehyung ranted, we all just stared at him for a moment in shock. We didn't expect this reaction out of him, he seemed like he was one to be unfazed by a lot of things.
"What?!"
"You sound as if those things happened to you." Yoongi shrugged, "Well, it didn't. So don't look at me like that." Taehyung stabbed a piece of steak, clenching his hand around the fork.
"Okay.."
