Stuck In An Unforgiving Cave!

Elizabeth's POV

I stumbled slightly, trying to keep up with Hoseok as he pulled me along with him. Yoongi continued leading us to the cave as I could hear the loud footfalls of the beast chasing after us, which only served to make me even more nervous about the situation we were in. The fact that both Taehyung and Jungkook managed to anger whatever it was that chasing us by just being in the vicinity scared me. But it also made me wonder why they didn't just kill it when it first attacked them, they both are powerful enough to take it down. Unless.. That thing isn't a normal animal. "How much farther?!!" Jin shouted, looking at Yoongi. "Just a little more, we're almost there!" My eyes lit up as the cave came into sight, from the light that we had left I could see that the entrance was surrounded by a ton of greenery. There was something about the cave itself that made me wary of it, the last time we were in a cave, I was nearly killed by a siren and was saved by Jin. I gripped Hoseok's hand tighter, catching up with him as we made it into entrance of the cave. "We need light!" Jungkook called, without so much as a peep both Namjoon and Hoseok created a source of light. We ran a bit farther back from the entrance, stopping as Jimin and the others formed a line in front of me. As we heard the sound of the beast coming closer, I saw its silhouette from the shadows the sunlight was casting. My eyes widened as the silhouette I saw looked like a very large wolf, which could possibly be a demon dog. I had never seen one before but I knew they existed, and they technically weren't actually "demons" as they are called. They are actually very large wolves or werewolves, who have lost their human self in their wolf as a result of a trauma or spell.

"Shit! That thing is closing in on us!" Jin slightly panicked and without saying anything, Taehyung immediately threw up a protective barrier around the entrance, keeping the wolf out. A large black furred figure slammed into the barrier, letting out a loud roar which echoed off the walls of the cave. I covered my ears, grimacing as the roar bounced off the walls. I opened my eyes and looked towards the entrance, my breath being taken away as I spotted what had been chasing us. It was definitely a "demon dog" aka, Lycaonia. A Lycaonia is essentially a very fucking huge wolf and it wanted nothing more than to eat every single one of us. The cave shook slightly as the Wolf rammed into the barrier, scratching and clawing at it relentlessly. I took several steps back, panting as I kept myself from panicking at the sight of the Lycaonia especially as it was honestly really big. I had never came across one of them but I knew they lived in a very deep part of Pxysi Forest, Dad warned me about them when I was younger.

"Oh shit." Jimin exclaimed, he put his hand on his bow which was on his back.

"What the hell is that thing?!" Jungkook asked, looking at the rest of us with wide eyes.

"It's called Lycaonia, also known as the "Demon Dog". Most of the ones that I've heard of live somewhere in Wayver Woods." Jimin explained, "I've heard of them but I've never seen one before." Jungkook shifted his gaze to the front entrance where it was still banging on the barrier, "I've seen one before." Yoongi said, turning our eyes to him.

"You have?" Namjoon asked.

"Yeah, but it was a long time ago... It didn't end well for a lot of people." He said, sounding vague. There was a look of sadness that I saw present in his eyes, there was definitely more to the story than that.

"The Lycaonia really seems pissed off. Is it possible that you two stumbled across a female and not a male?" Yoongi yelled over the roar, looking at Jungkook and Taehyung. "Nope, it's definitely a male!! Male Lycaonia are more aggressive and territorial than the females!" Taehyung shouted. All of us jumped as the Lycaonia slammed its large paw into the barrier and then slammed itself against the barrier, hoping to break it. I put my hand on the sheath of my scabbard, ready to fight if need be.
