Breaking the Link

Hoseok's pov

When Elizabeth passed out, everyone panicked as we weren't expecting it. I had tried healing her but that didn't work and the symbol on her arm was still glowing brightly. Slight whimpers came out of her mouth as I kneeled down next to her, "Damn it," I cursed, "Why does this keep happening?" Jungkook asked, "The link is always strongest when it's cast on two siblings. Damian might be able to handle whatever pain the Warlock is dishing out but Elizabeth might not be able to handle it the same way he can." Namjoon explained, "Is there a way you can break the link between them?" I looked up at Namjoon, who kneeled down on the other side of Elizabeth. "There is but it will require two mages. Last I checked, I'm the only mage in this group." Namjoon said, "Can a fairy learn the spell?" Taehyung asked, shoving Jimin forward slightly. Jimin turned his head, giving Taehyung a dirty look before turning his attention to Namjoon. "That is a possibility but it would require months of training." He explained, making me sigh and drop my shoulders. "That's time we don't have." Yoongi stated, crossing his arms. "Jimin was strong enough to help create that bridge when we needed to cross in the cave. Surely, he is strong enough to help you break that link. Am I wrong?" Jin spoke up, Namjoon looked up at Jin for a moment and then looked at Jimin. "Well," Yoongi pressed, "I suppose we could give it a try but this might be painful for her since we don't have another mage."

"Might? How much is might, Namjoon?" I asked.

"I have a bad feeling about the answer he's about to give." Jungkook muttered, "So do I." Jin agreed.

"Well...."

Jin, Taehyung and Jungkook had to hold me back as Namjoon and Jimin started the spell. They had Yoongi hold Elizabeth down so that they could do the spell without her moving around too much. Elizabeth had woken up alarmed and once her symbol starting glowing while Jimin and Namjoon were chanting, she started screaming in pain. None of us wanted to hear her scream like that, I tried so hard not to murder everyone in the immediate vicinity of her. "I'm sorry, Liz. I'm so sorry." Jimin apologized, I could see tears welling his eyes as she sobbed loudly. "How much longer is this going to take?!!" Yoongi asked, looking up from Elizabeth's red face. He looked distraught but he was holding it in, "Two more minutes." Namjoon waved his hand and motioned for Jimin to do the same. When her screams got louder and sounded more painful, I nearly lost my temper. Jungkook and Taehyung had to push me to the ground and Jin sat on my back to keep me from getting to Elizabeth. "Let me go!! I'm going to hurt all of you! Let me go!!" I screamed, "No can do, Hyung!" Jungkook called, "We need to give them enough time to break the link." Jin yelled, "Not if it kills her first!" I shouted, "It won't kill her! Well.. Actually it might, we don't know how strong that link is." Taehyung shook his head, "Dude, NOT HELPING!" Jungkook and Jin shouted in unison, Taehyung held up his hands in mock surrender.

"Finished!" The symbol on Elizabeth's arm disappeared and she passed out, her cries becoming silent. As soon as she stopped crying, I turned myself over and shoved Jin off of me. Jungkook let go and backed up as Taehyung did the same, the two keeping their distance as I brushed myself off and stood to my feet. I walked over to Elizabeth, bending down next to her and noticed the mark she had, was now gone. "It's gone." I looked up at Namjoon in shock, I turned my head back to Elizabeth who had begun moving slightly.

"We need to get moving, being in this forest is only to keep us fighting. We need to leave." Yoongi said.

"Where do you suggest we go exactly? Elizabeth is down for the count right now. Given what those two just put her through." Taehyung asked, "We can find somewhere to camp for the night but we should keep moving. Staying in Wayver Woods will only keep us from getting to where we need to go. Elizabeth said that his lair is west of her town, meaning we need to head back the way we came." Yoongi said, Jimin pulled the map out of Elizabeth's bag as Namjoon picked her up and put her on my back.

"It'll take us a day or two at least to get out of here, not counting the ways we could get attacked or stopped by the creatures who live here." Jin chimed in.

"I have a solution.. We can head to this small town just ten miles east of here. It is called Aeston." Jimin looked up at us.

"I've heard of that town," Jungkook said, I looked over at him for clarity. "Well, is it a good place to go?" I raised an eyebrow at him, waiting for an answer. "According to some of the people I've encountered, yeah. They say it's almost like that one town that disappears and moves around." He said, crossing his arms.

"Like Mythbrook." Jimin smiled.

"Liz loved Mythbrook  when we visited. She had a very relaxing time. Frankly, it was the first time I saw her genuinely be happy since we met." Jimin said, smiling as he looked at Elizabeth fondly.

"What do you think?" I asked, looking to Yoongi. He looked skeptical of the place, I could see the wheels turning in that head of his. "I say, we go check that town out." Taehyung said, "Me too. I've always wondered what Aeston was really like." Jungkook said.

"Jin hyung?"

"I'm skeptical of that town since nobody knows too much about it but it doesn't hurt to check it out. Besides, we need a break. We've been on constant edge and none of that is good for group moral. Nor is it any good for Elizabeth, she's already put herself in danger and stressful situations. It won't be good if she gets overwhelmed with everything going on and she has a complete mental break down." He stated.

"I agree." I said, Elizabeth's head rested on my shoulder. She seemed peaceful at the moment, which made me less worried about the spell Namjoon had cast.

"Namjoon?"

"I'm in."

"Yoongi, you're the last one. What do you say?" Jin asked.

"Even though, I'm skeptical... I'm in."

"Good, I'll take the lead. It's not too far from us." Jimin said, holding up the map. Everyone grabbed their stuff and we headed off to this mysterious town, all I can hope for is that we get a moment of reprieve.
