Elizabeth's pov
Yoongi had once again taken the lead, he seemed the most anxious to get out of this cave and I didn't blame him. Ever since that run-in with the Incubus, it seemed that everyone was very tense. I couldn't help but feel guilty because I had let myself fall victim to the Incubus's spell, Damian had always warned me about them. He even taught me some spells to keep myself protected from them, it feels like all I am is just causing trouble for the seven of these young men. Hoseok wouldn't leave my side, it was almost as if he was afraid of me getting hurt again but I could tell that he was holding it together. I worry about his mental health because he has seen me get hurt more than anyone else, his sole job being to protect me. I felt a shiver run down my spine, this always happened when I felt like something was stalking us. Just as rounded a corner, we were surprised to see a huge chasm that had blocked our way of getting to the other side. "Shit." Taehyung muttered from behind me, we all stopped a few steps away from the edge of the chasm on our side. A wood bridge stretched across the chasm, connecting the other half of the rock. I had a feeling that it was not sturdy enough for all of us to walk on at the same time which meant we were going to have to cross one at a time. "That doesn't look sturdy." Jimin said, "No, it doesn't." Jungkook agreed, shaking his head.
"What do we do? We have to get over to the other side and I doubt Hoseok and Taehyung want to fly us over there one by one." Jin stated, "Namjoon, you got any ideas?" Yoongi asked, "Well, I could try the spell that my mother taught me to build a sturdier bridge.." He held his chin, thinking some more. "But? I sense a but somewhere in that sentence." Jimin chimed in, "But I don't know if this would actually work. This spell often takes two mages to cast." He answered, "What if I lent you some of my magic?" Jimin quipped, "And you could teach the spell to me. I'm a fast learner." I added, turning attention onto me.
"What do you say, Namjoon?" Jimin asked, "That just might work." He answered, thinking some more. "Okay, what we do?" Jimin asked, "For this spell it requires the person to visualize what they want to build. For the bridge, you have to think of ones you have seen either in your own home town or while traveling. When you got the visual in your head, you're going to hold out your hand and say Supresortia. Then the bridge should appear." He explained, "Jimin, you'll need to give some of your power to help Elizabeth bring that bridge to life." Jimin looked at me and nodded, he grabbed my free hand and I could feel sparks run and down my arm making me shiver slightly. I took a deep breath and did just as Namjoon said, creating a visual of a bridge that I had seen before.
"Got it."
"Okay, on three we'll recite the spell."
"1......2.....3.."
"Supresortia." My hand and Namjoon's lit up with a light blue glow, everyone simply stared in awe as a sturdy stone bridge appeared, attaching itself to either side of the cliff.
"Whoa," Jin muttered in amazement.
"Whoa is right." Jungkook nodded, his mouth slightly hanging open.
"I did it!!" I smiled, looking at Namjoon who looked just as surprised as everyone else. It seemed that my abilities were growing and it made me happy, if I could just stop getting hurt then it would be much easier for Hoseok. Namjoon shook himself out of his stupor and looked down at me, a smile making its way on his lips. "Yes, you did." Namjoon smiled, "We did it, Jimin!! We made a functioning bridge!" I let go of Namjoon's hand and threw my arms around Jimin, wrapping him in a big hug. Jimin laughed at my excitement, hugging me back. "Yeah, we did." He laughed, the two of us smiled at each other as we stared into each other's eyes.
"I'm proud of you, Liz." Hoseok spoke, startling us as he appeared to my left.
"Thank, Hobi." I smiled.
"You really are a fast learner." Taehyung chimed in, "That's all thanks to Damian. He trained me to be the best and though I'm not there yet, I have always done the best that I can." I explained, letting go of Jimin.
"Well, that's good. There's always room for you to grow." Yoongi said, "We should get moving. This bridge won't be here forever." Namjoon spoke up, "Why not?" Jin furrowed his eyebrows in confusion, "Because it's a powerful spell that requires an immense amount of magic to be used. If nobody is consistently using their magic to keep the bridge going then it won't stay there for long." Namjoon explained.
"How long do we have?" Taehyung asked.
"A few more minutes at best. Let's go." We all decided to test out the bridge first so we sent Taehyung across, he had the ability to fly if the bridge were to disappear underneath his feet. Of course, he didn't like having to cross the bridge and basically be the sacrifice but he went along with it anyways. When he reached the other side safely, Yoongi and Namjoon were sent after him and safely got across. Hoseok, Jimin and I were sent next after them. I wasn't going to cross the bridge without them, Hoseok and Jimin also felt the same. I held onto Hoseok and Jimin's hand the entire time and didn't bother looking down into the deep chasm that lied below the bridge, I absolutely hate chasms. "Everything is okay, Liz. Just don't look down, keep your eyes on me." Hoseok spoke, he held my hand tightly and guided me and Jimin through the bridge. "I'm right behind you, Liz. Nothing is going to happen." Jimin reassured, giving my hand a squeeze as I looked back at him.
"Right."
"Unless the bridge disappears underneath you, then you'll be even more concerned." Taehyung said.
"Taehyung!" Hoseok snapped.
"What?" He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly, "You idiot." Yoongi smacked the back of Taehyung's head, making him wince as I just gave off a nervous laugh. "Don't listen to him." Jimin said, "Yeah, I'll try not to." We managed to get across in one piece, making me less nervous but Jin and Jungkook were the last ones to cross.
"Guys, hurry. We have two minutes left," Namjoon called. Jin and Jungkook immediately started crossing but I noticed something was wrong with the bridge, "Oh no," Hoseok said, we watched as part of the bridge behind them started disappearing.
"Or not." Namjoon shook his head.
"Guys, hurry!"
Jin and Jungkook picked up the pace but the bridge was starting to disappear faster than they could run, when the bridge left from underneath their feet everyone panicked. Hoseok immediately took off, flying down to get them. "Taehyung, go help!" Yoongi shoved Taehyung forward, causing the Fallen Angel to glare at him. He muttered curse words under his breath but did as he was told, a minute later Hoseok appeared with Jin in his arms. "Oh thank goodness." I sighed in relief as Hoseok and Jin's feet touched the ground in front of us.
"What about Jungkook?" Jimin asked.
"I couldn't reach him but I saw Taehyung go straight after him. If anything, he's got him." Hoseok explained.
"Then why aren't they up here yet?"
"I don't know. They-" Hoseok was cut off when Taehyung appeared with a disheveled Jungkook in his arms, "Jungkook!" Jimin rushed to his brother as Taehyung and Jungkook's feet touch the ground. "What happened?" I asked, as Jimin pulled Jungkook into a hug. Jungkook hugged his brother back, looking slightly shaken up.
"His shirt got caught on a rock, it took me a minute to get his shirt unhooked before the rock couldn't hold his weight anymore." Taehyung explained, patting Jungkook on the shoulder. "It's all good, I got to him just in time." He said, "Yeah," Jungkook nodded, still looking out of it. "Come on, we gotta keep moving." Yoongi said, "Let's go." I took Jungkook's hand in mine, making him look at me. His blue eyes met mine as he looked surprised, "It's alright, Jungkook. Come on." He nodded, giving me a soft smile. I pulled him with me, the two of us walking together behind Hoseok and Namjoon.
