ALEX'S POV

It was Sunday morning and I was home looking after Jason while my mum went shopping.

It was 9 o'clock and we had already eaten breakfast.

I was bored because I hadn't homework to do for the following day, so I was looking for a show to watch on TV and Jason was playing quietly with his toys on the ground.

Suddenly the doorbell rang. I stood from the couch and I opened the door

"Hello?" I said to the woman stood in front of me. She was quite tall and she had brown hair and blue eyes

"Hi, sweetheart, I'm Helen. I saw that there were new people living here so I came to meet you" she smiled at me. "I live there so we are practically neighbours" I saw where she had pointed out and I saw Glen's house!

She was probably his mum!

"Hi there, who are you?" I looked behind Helen and I saw my mum.

"Good morning, I'm Helen. I live in that house" she said

"Nice to meet you Helen, I'm Nicole" my mum said shaking her hand. "come in" she added

We all went inside the house and my mum made Helen sitting on the couch.

"Helen they are my children. She is Alex and he's Jason" my mum said smiling

"Nice to meet you" me and Jason said together

"How old are you guys?" she asked

"I'm 17, nearly 18 and he's 7" I said

"oh, I have a son who is 20 and another one who is the same age as you, Alex. You should meet him. I think you would get along very well" she said

I blushed thinking about Glen and I smiled about the fact that I already knew him and that we got along very well.

"Would you like something to drink?" my mum asked Helen

"yes, thanks. I would like some tea" she smiled

"I'll go and make it" I said going in the kitchen.

I put the kettle on and then I looked outside the window and I saw Mark who was probably going to Glen's house.

He noticed me and he waved at me as he started coming toward the window.

"hey!" he said "hi Mark!"

"Do you live here?" he asked narrowing his eyes. I nodded.

"Does Glen know?" he asked. I lifted my eyebrows at him.

"Sorry, stupid question" he said. I laughed at him

"would you like coming with me to Glen's house?" he asked

"No, I can't. I'm making tea" I said

"What? And you don't even invite me!" he said joking

"well, I have already guests" I said smirking.

"Oh, who are they?" he asked curiously

"Glen's mum" I said

"what is Helen doing here?" he asked laughing a little

"she said that she wanted to meet her new neighbours" I said

"Alex, who are you talking with?" I turned around and I saw my mum standing there. Then she saw Mark and she looked at me again with the 'you should give me some explanation' look.

"Mum, he's Mark, he's a friend of mine" I said looking at her

"And why are you talking with him through the window?" she said putting her hands on her hips

"He was going to Glen's house and he saw me, so he came here to talk a little" I said. Then I realised t what I had just said

"Who's Glen?" she asked

"Another friend of mine, mum" I said annoyed but blushing at the same time

"okay" she said "hurry up with the tea!" she added while going away from the kitchen.

I looked at Mark and he burst out laughing. "You....were....so.....embarrassed" he said still laughing

I rolled my eyes at him and then I closed the window leaving him laughing outside

"Hey! Alex, come on! I was kidding" he said

I smiled amused while I put the tea in the mugs.

I waved at him and I went into the living room.
