ALEX'S POV
The days flew by and my mother was still at London. She had to stay there because of the trials.
The judge didn't give judgement yet and I was getting worried.
Meanwhile Christmas was coming and me and the girls decided to go Christmas shopping after school.
We were outside the school as always. It was a cloudy day and it was very cold, typical wintry weather. The school wasn't garnished with Christmas trimmings yet...
"So, you're going shopping?" Danny asked
"Yes, and you can't come with us!" Sam said glaring at him
I shook my head smiling.
"Why?" he said dramatically
"Because it's a girly afternoon" then she said "Sorry, you're right. You can come Danielle" she said ruffling his hair. We all laughed and Danny crossed his arms over his chest pouting "You're not funny" he mumbled.
Glen was beside me with his arm around my shoulder. He was cute with his black beanie and his leather jacket.
"Who's going to pick up Jason from school?" I asked looking in his blue eyes
"My mum. And she said she was going to get him to the park" he said
"She's an angel" I said smiling
"You are too" he said looking at me
I blushed and I looked at the ground with my heart racing in my chest.
Why he had to be so cute? He said such sweet things to me...
"I don't think so" I laughed a little
"You're wrong..." he said softly
And I found myself looking at his lips and then I felt the urge to kiss him. Until someone clarified his throat: it was Mark. I snapped out of my thoughts. Everyone was looking at us. Glen was blushing and he removed his arm from my shoulder and I felt a sort of emptiness inside.
Mark and Danny were smirking and the girls were trying not to laugh.
"Are we going?" I said breaking the silence.
"Okay" Rina said
She kissed Mark on the lips and I looked away embarrassed.
"See you later" I said to Glen
He nodded. We said goodbye to the guys and we made our way to the town centre
If Mark didn't interrupt me and Glen, would I have kissed him for real? Probably not because there were our friends watching us and surely he wouldn't have kissed me back. The temptation was strong but I was afraid to lose him, I was just a friend to him, nothing else....
Suddenly I saw a hand waving in front of me. "Earth to Alex!"
"What?" I said
"What were you thinking about?" Beth asked me.
"Nothing" I said
"Of course Alex, what about Mr. Blue Eyes?" Rina said smirking
"I wasn't thinking about Glen!" I said almost yelling
"Okay, calm down girl! Don't get nervous or you're going to get older before you expect to" Sam said. She was obsessed with look. Actually she was one of the most beautiful girls in the school.
I rolled my eyes "Let's think about Christmas presents!" I said
"Are you going to get a present for Glen?" Beth said took me by the arm "I-I don't know" I said. Was he going to get me a present? I was so confused!
"Come on! You're best friends, I think..." Rina said
"What do you mean with 'I think'?" I asked.
Unfortunately I already knew the answer but I just wanted to hear it from her.
"We know that you like him Alex" Beth said sighing like it was the most obvious thing in the world
"I-I don't l-like him" I said hesitating
"Why are you lying to yourself Alex? There's nothing wrong liking a guy" Sam said
I thought about what Sam had said. She was right... But he would have never liked me back for God's sake!
We went in dozens of shops. The girls had bought some present for their parents. I bought a dress for my mum and a teddy bear for Jason because he didn't have one.
I didn't know what to buy Glen.
Rina bought Mark a blue beanie because he often wore them
We were in a pretty shop and the girls were looking at some of the accessories. On the counter there was a collection of necklaces... One of them captured my eyes: it was a good luck charm with a leather necklace. It was beautiful and it would have been more around Glen's neck. So I bought it.
The girls loved the necklace and they were glad that I had bought Glen something.
We got home at 7 o'clock.
I hid my presents in my school bag.
I knocked at the door and Cole opened it. "Hey!" he greeted me
"Hi Cole" I smiled at him
He closed the door and he followed me. "Glen's with Jason" he said. I nodded
I went in the kitchen where I found Helen cooking.
"Hello sweetheart" she said smiling.
"Hi Helen" she gave me a kiss on the cheek
"I've got good news" she said
"What are they about?" I asked
"You mum is coming back tomorrow!"
"Really? Oh my God! What did she say about the trial?" I asked
"She said that she's going to tell us tomorrow" Helen said with an apologetic look
I bit my lip because of the nervousness
"Don't worry Alex... It's going to be okay!" Helen said hugging me.
We pulled out of the hug and she smiled at me
"Go upstairs to the guys" She said
I nodded and I went upstairs. I went in my bedroom and I left my bag there. Then I knocked on the door of Glen's bedroom and Jason was there with him. They were seated on the bed and Glen had the guitar in his hands.
"Hey guys" I said
Jason ran to me and he hugged me
"Alex!" he giggled
Glen smiled at me "What are you doing guys?" I asked as I walked toward the bed. "Glen was teaching me how to play guitar" Jason said proudly
I sat on the bed and Jason sat on my lap. "Really?" I said and I looked at Glen. He nodded and smiled
"I've got big news" I said to Jason
"Split it out" he said
"Mum's coming back tomorrow" I said smiling
Jason jumped off my lap and made a little dance. Glen and I laughed.
"Do you know the judgement yet?" Glen asked. I shook my head. "She told Helen that she's going to tell us tomorrow" I said
He nodded "You won't go anywhere" Glen said hugging me
I nodded "I hope so"
I was a little afraid of what my mum was going to say. Why she didn't tell Helen what the judge had said? Was she going to make us a surprise or she was going to say goodbye to us?
