ALEX'S POV
I was a little nervous about the date thing. It was my first time going out on a date and I didn't have a clue how to act.
Glen told me he would have come picking me up at 7.
It was half past six and I was sat on the chair while my mum was putting make up all over my face.
I just needed to put my dress, which my mum chose for me, on."I'm sure it will be the best date you've ever gone to" my mum said as she smiled like a fool.
"Mum, actually it's my first date ever!" I said rolling my eyes.
She was way more excited than me for my date.
Don't get me wrong! I was very excited but she was exaggerating. She kept saying how Glen and I looked perfect together. I liked that side of my mum but sometimes I thought it was childish from her acting like she was still a teenager."Here you go!" my mum said applying some lipstick on my lips.
I stood up and I put the dress on.When I turned around my mum gasped "Oh my God Alex! You're stunning"
I blushed and I checked myself in the mirror. My hair was curled up naturally and it fell nearly my waists.
My face looked different. My eyelashes were covered by a bit of mascara and my eyelids had some eye shadow on.
My dress was green and it fell above my knees. It wasn't too tight but it defined all my curves. And my black ballerina flats completed the outfit.
I had never dressed that way before, but I felt comfortable and beautiful as well.It was nearly 7 and my mum and I went downstairs. Jason was watching TV and he turned to look at me.
He smiled at me "You look pretty!" he said in his high pitched voice.
"Thanks Jason" I said ruffling his hair.
Suddenly the doorbell rang and my heart seemed to stop. My mum smiled at me and handed me my coat and I put it on.
I smiled back at her and I headed to the door. When I opened it Glen had his back towards me.
He felt my presence behind him and he turned around to face me.
When he saw me his jaw like dropped and he blushed embarrassed.I smiled at him. He was wearing a leather jacket, a black t-shirt and his dark jeans.
He wasn't dressed in an elegant way but he looked very good in his outfit.
"You... You look beautiful" he said smiling shyly.
"Thanks. You too" I said "Well, I mean... You look handsome" I said looking at the ground.
"Thank you" he said
"Are you ready?" he asked me and I nodded.
He took my hand and began walking.
"So, where are you taking me?" I asked
"I've already told you... It's a surprise" he said smiling
"I know but... Come on.. Tell me" I put my best puppy dog face on and looked at him
"Oh no, it doesn't work with me" he laughed.
I rolled my eyes "Fine. I'll wait" I said annoyed
"We're nearly there" he said as he stopped walking
"Why did you stop walking?" I said confused
"Put this on" he said as he showed me a blindfold
"Why?"
"Because it's a surprise"
"Fine" I sighed as he blindfolded me
"Come on" he said taking my hand again.
I couldn't see anything but I wasn't scared because I was sure Glen would have kept me safe.
After a few minutes of walking he stopped "Are you ready?" he whispered in my ear.
His voice made shiver run down my spine.I nodded and he took off the blindfold from my eyes.
When I was able to look again my eyes wided. We were in his secret place where he had taken me that morning.
It was decorated with candles and there was a red tablecloth on the ground and a basket.I looked at him and I couldn't help it but kissed him on the cheek.
"Thanks, I've never done a picnic before" I said
"It's okay" Glen smiled at me.
We sat on the tablecloth.
He opened the basket and pulled out sandwiches and pizza."My mum made them, she insisted to make the food for us" he said
We ate the majority of the food Helen made. It was delicious. Helen was a great cooker!
We talked a lot too.
He told me about how he started playing drums and that he would have liked to become a famous drummer when he would have graduated from high school.
He said he liked writing songs too and he loved playing with Danny and Mark.
He looked so happy talking about his future.
I told him I didn't know what I would have done when the school would have finished even though it was our last year of high school. We finished eating and we lay down on the tablecloth looking at the sky.
"I'm not grounded anymore" he said smiling
"Yeah? How so?" I smirked
"Well, my parents understood why I punched Sean" he said looking at me.
I looked at the ground because I didn't know what to say and I was embarrassed by his staring.
Finally he spoke again...
"So, do you like it here?" Glen asked looking uncomfortable."Yeah, it's so peaceful" I said. He stayed silent "Why?" I added.
"Well, I thought you wouldn't have likes it. I thought you expected to be taken in a restaurant or something. Instead I took you here, making a picnic on the grass in the cold Dublin" he said
I sat up and I looked down at him
"Glen, don't you dare to say that again. I love it here and it has been the best date I could ever dream about" I smiled at him "I mean it" I added. He sat up as well and he took my hand "Are you sure? I mean, every guy you have dated sure has taken you to better places than this" he looked at the ground.
"Well, I wouldn't say that, since I've never dated a guy" I said laughing.
He looked at me "W-What?"
"You're the first" I said smiling proudly.
I was glad he was the first guy who had took me out.
"So, you've never had a boyfriend or dated a guy before?" he asked
I shook my head.
He stayed silent and I laughed"Why are you laughing?" he asked narrowing his eyes.
"Because you're acting like I told you God knows what!"
"Well, I thought you've had many boyfriends... I mean you're beautiful who wouldn't fall for you?" he said
I looked at him and he realized what he had said and blushed.
"Thanks" I whispered.
"It's the truth" he whispered back as he looked at me.
We stared at each other until we leaned in and we kissed.
He cupped my cheek with his hand and I put my hands in his hair.
The kiss was soft but it was more... passionate. We pulled back and pressed our foreheads together.
"Be my girlfriend?" he asked.
When he spoke those words I loved him even more"Yes" I breathed.
And we found each other saying those three words at the same time: "I love you"
