with the amount of books i've read i came to realise that i'm more of a character-based reader. that does not mean that i don't mind a book without a plot, or an uninteresting plot. but, the characters should be at least tolerable.

i wouldn't say i hate these two main characters, they're not flat and characters without a personality. in the first five chapters, i liked mars, found her very funny, brave, entertaining, and all that good stuff. but after reading this book for a few more chapters, i found her being too much. you might hate me for this, but she is kind of childish, despite the fact that she's your bad independent bitch, which i found very weird that those two personalities combined. i did actually find some of her jokes pretty funny, but when it's not, i was like people find this funny? like, seriously, do you guys find people bullying kids with literally no reason funny? why?

moving on to vince, i'm actually doubting if vincent is the italian mafia don, he would wince, shake, his breathing would quicken, dude get it together! what do you even expect your people to do if that's how you're reacting to mars pointing a knowingly unloaded gun towards you? i would always prefer a strong, male character on wattpad. i don't care if it won't happen in real life! you shouldn't wince when you're being shot, and i would find that as a huge turn on.

enough with the characters, on to the plot. it did keep me entertained in some parts, i would give that. but, there's literally nothing going on considering it's a mafia book when they're not in action. the action was around 15 chapters probably and for the rest of the book, it's not a mafia book! they would just spend their sweet time getting to know each other, having sex. just why? the reason you brought her in was to make her your employee, and here you are, fucking her just because she dared talking back? and to worsen that, you barely know her, and find that hot? how? i thought you would kill her already?

the title really said kill for you but when there was this supposedly 'huge mission' vincent didn't even go there with her and just wait in the car? people would say, even if he would offer, she would deny immediately. okay, i understand. but the thing is did he ask? no be freaking didn't! the only question he asked was are you sure? and it felt as if he would feel bad if anything bad happened to her if he would just agree immediately, so i think what came to his mind was, okay i'll just ask this and i wouldn't feel as bad.

if you couldn't tell already, yes this book is overly written, it was not necessary for this book to be this long, just because the writer would be sad to say goodbye to them. did the thought of 'would this be necessary? if i add this with no reason would it be weird? would my readers be bored if i would just put no plot vibes only an insane amount of them fighting over the smallest thing?

lastly, i really appreciate how the author edited this whole book! so it is very easy to read with barely any typos which is definitely super rare here on wattpad! the writing style was also very enjoyable with the humour randomly thrown at the most random places, which i did actually find annoying at some points. but other than that, it's not a bad book.
