i was over the moon when i landed on this book as my next read. as some of you may know, i pick my next read randomly with a random number picker. and by the time i picked this book up, i had over 200 books on my tbr and this one was the fifth book that i ever added.

with the amount of reads and votes this book has gotten, i think it's understandable that i had a very high expectation. i wouldn't say it's bad, no! the thing is that it started super slow, well at least for me. despite that fact, i did actually find this book very entertaining from the beginning till the very end.

the character and plot development in this book were very much appreciated. let me tell you something, i did not like orabella at all in the first few chapters as i find her very annoying and dumb. i do really understand that she's just 18, but, you know, fictions are not supposed to be believable or anything. the goal of reading a fiction for me is to escape and find a better place to be in, at least for a couple hours a day.

i don't even think it's necessary for me to talk about the plot development. the action at the end of this book, was everything that could pay off the slow pace in the beginning. it was deeply regretted that there was only one big scene for this entire book which took over 40 chapters to get there.

not only was the character and plot developed so well, but also the writing style! the first three chapters was on the third person pov, but the author tried to change to first person probably to enhance our reading experience. but the author slipped a couple times which was kind of confusing but after a couple of those, it went very smoothly without those!

even though this is a stepbrother-stepsister story, i didn't see much of it. sure, they did mention it in the beginning, but other than that, they were purely strangers. vincenzo did not care for her as a sister, but rather as his girl. and i don't mean it in a bad way at all, it was just not what i expected going on to this story.

also, there was something that was left unanswered for me, which i wouldn't say just not to spoil anything.
