random number: 3a breath of fresh air. this is what it feels like. after so many books that i didn't quite enjoy and even though i'm in a reading slump, i now know that it's not true!! and also, granted, it's not amazing, it's not unforgettable, it's a three star.
but, even so, it took me less than 24 hours to read which really said something for me. even though, it's technically a mafia book, if i take that out of the story, i can see this story being realistic, which makes it so easy to read.
the writing style was also very easy to read and although i can see this being written in less than 24 hours, with the very typical wattpad mafia book, but hey, it's still a fast read.
the cover choice is an immediate no for me personally. i despise a real person, especially their face as the cover, it's a big turn off every time i'm imagining the male character, since he's not necessarily what i would picture the main character to look like. and also, there's really no fonts and whatsoever, in there, which feels very plain and bare lol.
there really isn't much happening throughout the book, it's more of just them meeting, not making the best impression towards each other, and out of no where, him having this feeling needing to protect her, him confessing that he's feeling something for her, and her saying the same. which i do not like, but whatever.
the characters were okay i should say. there were parts that cringed me out by both the main character and the love interest, but as i read more, i'm not sure if i got used to it, or if there really is no more.
if i were to read this not after the books i've read, i don't think i'd enjoy it this much. but after all of that, this book feels so nice since it's also a very short one to just get a book checked out of my tbr after sitting there for a year i feel like.
