Steve PoV
Another day, another incredibly boring day. Robin and I sat in the back, it being winter, no one wanting to buy ice cream. Robin sat on the window sill, listening to her music, and doodling on her shoes.
I was making my third coffee of the day.
"You know that's bad for you." Robin said without looking up.
"Says the one on her fourth iced coffee." I snorted.
Robin rolled her eyes and took a sip of her drink. "You're such an arse."
I shrugged. I'm used to her relentless sass and badgering. Unlike other girls she couldn't give two shits if I was the King of Hawkins High. I liked that about her, she doesn't care what others think, she's just unapologetically herself. I'd never admit it to her, but I'm a little jealous.
The bell rang and both of our heads snapped up. I slammed my cup down and fixed my hair, rushing to the counter. Robin followed me, ripping her headphones off. She kept her drink though, which was against her beloved Company Policy.
The guy on the other side of the counter grinned. "Steve Harrington and Robin Buckley. What are you guys doing here?"
His grin grew into a smirk when he took in our uniforms. "No. Way. Steve 'The Hair' is not wearing that."
Robin laughed. "Take it in Eds-o. I guess you're the new hire I was told about?"
"Wait what? New hire? No one told me about that."
Robin rolled her eyes and sighed. "God, you're like a child, I have to tell you everything."
Eddie snorted but tried to cover it with his hand. "So-uh, when do I get one of those cool uniforms?"
"Rob, if you keep rolling your eyes they're gonna fall out." I said.
She rubbed her temples. "Not even finished his training and I already have two of you."
Eddie extended his fist and I fist bumped him, making Robin sigh. She threw Eddie an apron.
"Here ya go. Until you get a uniform you can wear this. Also tie your hair back and wash your hands."
Robin decided since I had Eddie to train and keep me company she could go on an extra long break.
"How did King Steve end up here?" Eddie asked quietly, trying to scoop Mint Choc chip into a cone for me since no one else was around.
I sighed. It was only a matter of time before he asked. "I didn't get into collage, so this is my Dads way of punishing me."
"Oh." He handed me my cone. It was slightly cracked because he pushed the ice cream in too hard. I ate it anyway.
"Yeah. It's not so bad when you get used to it, and when its cold you're just getting paid to sit around and eat ice cream."
He nodded. "And Robins pretty nice."
I made a sound in-between a snort and a witches laugh, I doubled over laughing and Eddie just watched me.
"What?"
I straightened up. "Where you not kidding? How do you know Robin?"
"We are in band together, she got me this job." He shuffled his feet uncomfortably.
The bell dinged and we both looked up. I grinned. "Henderson and Sinclair! Where's everyone else? What can I get for you?"
Eddie smiled. "Hey guys."
"Hi! One chocolate and one rocky road." Dustin said, glancing down at the selection.
Lucas nodded along. "And Erica wanted me to get her a double whipped strawberry shake."
Eddie shuddered and looked at me. "How do I do that again?"
