Steve drove me and Robin to school and we sat in the parking lot, windows and music up. I clutched the stupid Prom flyer in my hand. I wanted to ask Steve to go with me but we wouldn't actually be able to go together.

I admired his side profile, he was twisted around, talking to Robin who was in the backseat. He had a mole on his neck, and a second one right where you'd put a tragus piercing (A/n if you're not sure where this is, google knows) His lips were light pink and slightly chapped. He chews on them when he's nervous.

He looked at me and smiled. "What?"

I shook my head. "Nothing- I was just thinking."

"About?" He prodded.

"Prom night." I said sheepishly.

Robin smacked her forehead. "How the hell did I forget!? Who are- oh."

Steve rolled his eyes and then his face lit up. "Rob, do you wanna go to prom with me?"

She pulled a disgusted face before quickly realising. "Oh- yeah! You could've given me a better promposal though."

"Am I missing something?" Of course I was, my boyfriend just asked his lesbian best friend to prom!

Steve grabbed my hand. "Well we can't go together, but me and Rob can! This way, I can still go!"

"Then who am I taking?" I knew exactly who they wanted me to take.

"Nancy." Robin said, her face flushing red.

The bell rang and me and Robin grabbed our bags. I gave Steve a peck and then ran with Robin to English.

"How am I gonna ask her?" I smirked.

Robin covered her face in her hands. "Oh my god! Will you shut up! She probs doesn't wanna go anyway-"

She slammed her locker shut and we resumed on our way.

"Of course she does.. probably. You'll never know if you never ask."

She rolled her eyes. "You're spending entirely too much time with Steve."

I clutched at my heart dramatically. "Dou thou not approve?"

Robin shoved the classroom door open and we each muttered an apology to the teacher before taking our seats and resuming our conversation.

Robin and Eddie arrived to English, late as usual. I don't know what's worse, the fact that they get away with it, or that they sit down and continue talking. I watch Eddie smile wide and do jazz hands, and then Robin turn bright red and punch his shoulder.

God, I wish she looked at me like that. I shook my head to clear the thought and turned back to the front of the room.

For once though, I couldn't pay attention. Robin was being, well, Robin. I swear she's more hyper than usual. And so unpredictable. She's doodling on her shoes quietly, then she's scribbling something down and then Eddie has to stop her from going to look at the dog that somehow got onto campus.

After class, I was packing up my pencil case and throwing papers into my binder when Eddie shoved Robin, who stumbled into me, knocking papers out of my hands.

Eddie turned around and put his hands in his pockets, walking out casually.

"Oh shit- sorry!" Robin said as she gathered my stuff. She dumped it on my desk and extended her hand. I took it and she pulled me up effortlessly.
