Kate boots clicked against the stone stairs to the police station, receiving a call from Sheriff Forbes about Alaric threatening his own girlfriend with a knife during her lunch time with a friend, she pulled the giant doors open, scanning for the blonde women when she lock eyes with Damon Salvatore.
Kate sighs fixing her bag on her shoulder. "We're you just with—"
Damon nods. "Ric's fine. Sheriff wants me to stay out of it." Kate cocked her head knowing that the vampire won't since Alaric was his best friend and needed to proof his innocence.
"You're not going to, are you?" Kate crossed her arms over her chest, she was still quite upset with him after what he did to Bonnie's mother, turning her into a vampire.
"Seems just as good a plan as any." Damon tells her, Kate shook her head leaning closer to him whispering. "Alaric, your bestie, is in jail for murder. You have to do something."
"Well, I guess I could rip out Dr. False accusations throat or maybe her tongue." Damon raised his eyebrows, Kate rolled her eyes looking away. "You know, I could chew it up in little, tiny pieces and feed it to the squirrels."
"Enough, Damon." Kate waved her hand.
"Guess me staying out of it suddenly sounds like a good idea, doesn't it." Damon smirks down at her, knowing he was already on her bad side, again.
"I saved Elena's like last night. If it wasn't for me you wouldn't have a twin left." Damon dodges the punch Kate throw his way, grabbing her wrist shaking his head. "Not today."
"You know, Bonnie's still hurt about her mother becoming a vampire." Kate tells him. "You can show a little compassionate."
"I know, you're right." Damon sighs staring up at the ceiling. "Her and her mom must be really hurting right now. Should I send lasagna?"
"You're such an asshole." Kate turned away from him only to stop when he continued to speak.
"I'm an asshole, you hate me." The girl shook her head walking down the hallway towards the doors. "The earth is back on its axis."

The girl had spent her afternoon at the Grill, she needed a distraction from Alaric being in jail for murder and her Damon being a pain in her ass, she needed some Kate alone time.
