Kate didn't know what she expected when Caroline told her about a trip they were going to take, though the vampire should've explained what kind of trip when Kate noticed the amount of baggage they brought.

They were staying at a Caroline's dad's cabin away from home with Stefan and Elena, hoping that the Travelers won't found find them with the help of Luke. Kate grabbed the box from the back of the jeep, heading up the stairs when Caroline looked over to Stefan and Elena.

They were whispering pretty too close for Caroline's liking. Kate followed her gaze, she one hundred percent trusted her boyfriend and sister though Caroline on the other hand, didn't, she exhaled and climbed stepped through the door.

"Where are y- Caroline." Kate watched the vampire stepped down from the porch and head over to the two doppelgängers. "Good news! We don't have to be invited in, which is actually super sad if you think about it."

Kate cocked her head, wishing to have superhearing before she walked through the door. "Beastie, what you got?" Damon walked down the stairs and pointed to the box in her hands.

"Uh, candles." Kate looked inside to see dozen of candles, the box must be Luke's.

"Give it here, I'm going back there anyways" Damon pointed back to the back door, Kate passed the box and the vampire walked out the back door.

Stefan walked into the shared bedroom he'll be sharing with Kate, he leaned against the doorframe as she began unpacking the mini luggage she brought along.

"I could feel you staring." Kate spoke without turning back. Stefan hummed with a smile and pushed off the doorframe.

"Sorry, just admiring the view." Stefan teased, Kate slammed the dresser closed and spun around just as his arms looped around her body, she quickly steady herself on his arms.

Kate smiled lovingly, stroking Stefan's arms trying to get some warmth onto her. "You've been here before?" Stefan noticed how quickly Kate and Elena got comfortable in the cabin and also he knew they possible spent some time when they were younger at the cabin.

"A couple times actually, though it was all before they divorced." Kate explained, tangling her hands through his fluffy hair, it's been fluffy lately and she loved it.

Stefan hummed, he peered out the window when he pressed a small kiss to her head and stepped back. "That reminds me, I need to pick up some firewood from the shed."

Kate nodded. "Okay, don't take to long." Kate said grabbing the book off the bed. Stefan turned with furrowed eyebrows, Kate shrugged. "It gets dark fast."
