Kate woke up that morning at the Salvatore Boarding House when she found a familiar face tied up to a chair with a white cloth wrapped around his mouth. "Oh, my god." Kate stopped in her tracks.
"What up, Beastie."
"Is that Mr. Sikes?" Kate asked, taking wary steps forward. Damon looked up from his spot on the couch. "You know him?"
"Yeah, he helped me open my first savings account." Kate frowned at him. "He gave me a lollipop."
"Well, unfortunately. Mr. Sikes here is occupied by some low-life traveler." Damon says. Kate sighed. "I saw him and his buddies chanting in the town square last week. I also know that Markos and your passengered comrades are planning some big flashy spell to undo some super boring ancient witch curse and where that sucks for us vampires."
Damon rolled his eyes and slowly stood up from the couch. "It just happens to undo all witch magic. I.E. kill me and my sexy, bombshell's boyfriend here."
Kate furrowed as Damon stepped away and she took a brave step forward. "If you know where Markos took Stefan and Elena, you need to fuss up, now."
Damon grabbed a sharp weapon from the corner before he leaned over to Mr. Sikes, the man didn't more an inch. "Yep. Sorry, you're gonna have to speak up." Kate cocked her head. "Mm, nope, nope, didn't catch that either." Damon raised the knife and stabbed him in the leg. Mr. Sikes screams were muffled.
Kate turned away, scrunching her face. "I think he's trying to say something to me. Come here, sweetie pie." Damon pulled down the cloth.
"It doesn't matter where Markos is, nothing you do can stop him now."

Stefan and Elena escape form Markos witchcraft and they didn't really know who set them free but they were glad they got away. Kate sat back on the couch, flipping through an old magazine she found laying around when Damon strolled in.
"Seriously? Collect calls are still a thing." Damon spoke through the phone, Kate looked up at him. The vampire sat the phone on the coffee table on speaker mode.
"Yeah, well, you know what could have saved you the cost of this phone call?" Stefan's voice came though. "You finding us. How long have we been gone?"
Kate looked up to Damon and took a deep breath. "Four days." She says.
"Four days? Four days, and you couldn't track us down." Stefan spoke in disbelief. Damon scoffed lightly. "What'd you think we were having a nice spa getaway?"
