Kate walked into the Salvatore home that morning when she left the sheriff's station with some files of Damon's and Enzo's killing trip around town(s), plural.

"Hey." Stefan smiled as he entered the living room once he heard the door open. Kate greeted him with a smile before passing him the flies. "You were right, he's off the rails, I stopped by the sheriff's office and Sheriff Forbes gave me these."

"Let me guess— missing persons and animal attacks." Stefan read the reports. Kate turned and nodded. "Yep. And there's something else. All the victim's were found inside their homes without their head and there skin was desiccated."

Stefan furrowed, flipping through the pages, as realization hits him. "Damon's feeding on vampires." Kate took the flies and sat down on the couch. "I shouldn't have let him go" Stefan said taking a seat.

"No! Don't do that, this isn't your fault, you didn't tell him to go off and kill a bunch of people, he did that himself." Kate reassured him, tossing the flies onto the coffee table. "No one could have stopped him from going after Wes."

"Guess Wes must have injected him with whatever he was gonna give Elena that makes vampire feed on vampires." Stefan exclaimed, it was the only reasonable explanation.

"Well, let's look over our previous situations. Jesse." Kate began, thinking about her previous classmate. "When this happened to him, you guys had to kill him but the good news..." Kate paused, lips parted, Stefan looked over and raised a brow. "Yeah, I- I got nothing, there's usually something good around these situations."

"I have to find him." Stefan said, sighing, knowing it was going to take quite a while to find his vampire killing brother.

"Well, I can come with you." Elena Gilbert entered the room, Kate looked over, confusion written all over her face. "Elena? Hey, I didn't know that you were here."

Elena sighed. "Yeah, Stefan has been helping me study."

Kate pursed her lips. "Oh, Stefan who doesn't go to college." Stefan looked up and shrugged lightly. Elena smiled, walking down the short steps. "Stefan who's an experts in history."

"Right, cool, well, I would join you on your trip but I'm going to help a friend with his project so, yeah... I'm going to help him with that one." Kate says, making her way towards the door. Stefan stood up quickly, taking her hand.

Elena bit her tongue. "Uh, I'm gonna get some clothes, and you'll pick me up at my dorm?" Elena brought Stefan's attention back to her, Stefan turned for a split second and nodded.

"Sure." Elena smiled and walked out the house. Kate watched the door close and exhaled. "You know, you can come with us, I'm sure this male friend who I never met, won't mind." Stefan said, bringing a hand up to her check.
