-Riki's POV-

"Tell me about your world." He sets his sharp and piercing gaze on my face, sitting back on the chair, "What's it like to live in that world?"

He doesn't need to break me anymore... why... what does that mean...

"Not interested I see... Then tell me, what is it that's your goal?"

He's changing the question?

"I've seen you at work, I know you have something you want to accomplish." He tilts his head to the left, "So tell me, what is your goal?"

"Tell me yours first." I almost whisper, I don't have the energy to speak. My eyelids are getting heavy. The hard wooden floor and the chunks of the broken table is making it hard for me to rest my back properly.

"It's simple." Fyodor opens his arms, extending them towards me, "I want your help in gathering information. Your ability, your knowledge, your intelligence, your resilience, I need them to create the perfect, ideal world. The world without any ability."

I laugh out loud. My brain warns me to stop, but I can't help giggling. My intelligence? I'm the dumbest human alive! And the only reason I'm resilient is my knowledge can fuck up Dazai's future! How the hell can he even use it on his chuunibyou plan?

Fyodor narrows his eyes at me, "In return, I will help you achieve the goal you have in mind."

I take a deep breath, stopping my laughter. I look at him, his anticipation and seriousness are clear in his expression. His gesture and attitude are screaming he's being honest, but I cannot trust my cloudy judgment.

What should I reply to him? I cannot tell him anything from myself, I cannot respond to his questions either. Should I just question him back?

I press down my aching shoulder, looking away, "What makes it sure my goal isn't to kill you?"

"If that was the case you would not be waiting in a slum."

I look at him again, a bit irritated this time, "What makes you sure I'm waiting in a slum? Who's to say I'm not gathering my own personal army against you?"

"Hmm." He puts a hand on his chin, "That could explain why you're befriending rather unusual people ever since you came here."

"However—" He smiles, putting his hand back on the chair's handle, "According to the prophecy you're going to prevent a tragedy, not create one."

I narrow my eyes, "Who's to say you're not the tragedy?"

"You have neverending questions." Fyodor furrows his eyebrows, still smirking, "「With purity and loyalty they will connect with a devil, trying to stop a destined tragedy.」is the prophecy. Purity and loyalty... that doesn't seem like your goal is to murder someone. It must be about saving someone."

Even I don't know what goal Miraiko is talking about, and he's this smug about it!

I look away, rubbing my neck with my broken fingers. I groan lightly as I whisper again, "There are so many questions I can ask on that..."

"Ask ahead, I'm intrigued."

I cough, clearing my throat, "First of all, what makes you sure I'm the Miraiko? Who's to say nobody else came into this world just like I did?" I turn my face towards him, locking my gaze on his eyes, "Secondly, Who gave you the idea that the prophecy is hundred percent correct? How can you trust the prophecy word by word, it's not God's revelation for God's sake! There's bound to be some mistranslation, misused words! Thirdly, You are a cold-blooded, closed-minded murderer that even justifies the killing of innocent children, killing you will save countless lives, therefore stop tragedies!"
